Is there something unclear?
Nov 23, 2015 22:32
It is possible, but that's a new question and shouldn't be asked in the comments
Nov 23, 2015 22:27
@Tim please don't use the comments on a question to ask about a new question
Aug 20, 2015 23:34
basically, resistance is futile
Aug 20, 2015 23:34
@waldyrious you'd need to edit the properties of .scrollbar in gtk-widgets.css

It might also be worth noting that this is probably going to break when we update to the new gtk with overlay scrollbars

afaik, the answer is correct for Luna. But gtkrc and gtk.css are not the same at all. So the instructions for modifying gtkrc will not apply to Freya
Aug 17, 2015 17:52
I'll leave my answer because having more answers is good for our stats :p
Aug 17, 2015 17:15
@waldyrious clearing the comments sounds logical to me since they are just confusing now :p
Aug 13, 2015 17:02
@RolandiXor sent you a slack invite. Should get an email shortly :)

But overall, I feel like one of the principles of StackExchange is voting for the best answer right? If you feel my answer is not good or should be changed/improved, there are mechanisms for this on the site. You also can propose your own answers and ideally the best answer floats to the top

@Tim I wasn't aware of an existing code of conduct. The one we have on the website is the one we refer to from all of our communities, whether that's reddit or Google+ or anywhere. It's a pretty general code of conduct and includes things like "be respectful" and "don't troll". If there's places you think we can improve the Code of Conduct, I'm definitely open to discussing those.
Jul 9, 2015 23:43
@Tim I didn't try to close it :p I get what you're saying, but then at the very least the answer on stack exchange and the installation guide should contain the same material
Jul 8, 2015 18:43
the people that are currently flooding reddit, google+, etc are all doing so because something went wrong
Jul 8, 2015 18:43
While I'm sure some small minority will genuinely want to learn things
Jul 8, 2015 18:42
Well, I don't expect users to come here with a happy face on, let's put it that way :p
Jul 8, 2015 18:40
Or at least we could be doing something better
Jul 8, 2015 18:40
I guess my perspective is that for every question someone asks, we've done something wrong
Jul 8, 2015 18:39
my personal feeling is that ideally users should never have to see or interact with stackexchange and the less time they spend there, the more ideal :p
Jul 8, 2015 18:34
If someone asks how they can earn rep, and part of that answer is through edits, part of that editing can be "take some stock screenshots"
Jul 8, 2015 18:34
Right, so that's why I'm saying we should just encourage stock screenshots
Jul 8, 2015 18:33
I think it's safer to just assume that a stock screenshot is the least confusing
Jul 8, 2015 18:31
I edited my question for clarity
Jul 8, 2015 18:29
I think answers should try to serve the most people possible
Jul 8, 2015 18:28
So while I have no thoughts about what you do with your own system
Jul 8, 2015 18:27
and conditioning users to blindly paste terminal commands is also potentially dangerous behavior
Jul 8, 2015 18:26
yes
Jul 8, 2015 18:26
many 3rd party stylesheets break the system in unpredictable ways
Jul 8, 2015 18:26
Tbh it's more about user safety
Jul 8, 2015 18:24
but I think we should encourage answers and editors to submit stock screenshots if they can
Jul 8, 2015 18:24
We're not talking about banning people that post customized screenshots
Jul 8, 2015 18:24
And that we want to lower the barriers as low as possible
Jul 8, 2015 18:23
@Tim I think the point that a few of us are trying to make is that "equal opportunity" and accessibility are super important

All I can see is that these packages are related to enlightenment DE. Apparently their toolkit is called "elementary"

Q: Problem installing elementary

Louise YosreI was trying to install elementary but I have this error. Here the output: dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of libecore-dev: libecore-dev depends on libglib2.0-dev; however: Package libglib2.0-dev is not configured yet. dpkg: error processing package libecore-dev (--configure)...

Nope
Nov 9, 2015 23:29
Not sure if there's a mod around that can move it back or something
Nov 9, 2015 23:28
Hey it looks like someone migrated this question to our StackExchange http://askubuntu.com/posts/695977/revisions

Problem is, this is about installing enlightenment desktop environment on (presumably) Ubuntu. It has nothing to do with elementary OS at all
