Lol, no idea what Matrix is either!! I'm so out of touch!
Oct 20, 2020 22:56
yeah - good luck! :)
Oct 20, 2020 22:56
and, not even heard of element!
Oct 20, 2020 22:56
:(
Oct 20, 2020 22:47
when you said not an option, are you talking about being a mod, or, do you work there now?! I'm out of touch!
Oct 20, 2020 22:44
haha, had no idea who you were! Just read the profile! :)
Oct 20, 2020 22:07
I see a few things flair up on twitter from people I followed... but, try to keep away from politics!
Oct 20, 2020 22:04
:)
Oct 20, 2020 22:03
And, no worries... lol - nearly everyone I used to talk to is a mod now!!
Oct 20, 2020 22:03
HI! :) I try to stay around, but, time just gets away from me :( Love this community, but, don't feel a part of it any more!
Oct 20, 2020 21:19
Well, top one didn't read too well, but, can't edit... meant to say... I don't think I've seen him around for a few years - Is Tom still here?! Or anyone with Windbg knowledge?!
Oct 20, 2020 21:16
And, p.s. I check the site every few days, is there anyway to get the "old" search back or have new questions slowed down? I used to answer MANY questions a day... now... I can barely see anything I can help with :(
Oct 20, 2020 21:15
Years out of date and here because I need a favour! Is Tom still around here? Or, anyone who knows Windbg well?!
Aug 21, 2020 09:53
I always say I want to be here more, but, then work gets in the way and I lose the tab or similar :( Just not enough hours in the day...
Aug 21, 2020 09:52
@bwDraco Hi!
Aug 12, 2020 01:58
the video editing tools typically make it much easier to visually trim!
Aug 12, 2020 01:58
@northerner - Try VLC, the convert option under advanced has a start/stop time... If not, I've had some success with quick edits on Windows Movie Maker or Imovie on my phone... saving as a movie then doing a convert to audio...
Aug 12, 2020 01:52
heh! :)
Aug 12, 2020 01:44
Anyway! Thank you! :) and, hope you are well? Been a while...
Aug 12, 2020 01:36
And, I love powershell, but, the older commands do seem simpler!!
Aug 12, 2020 01:36
lol... I was trying with proper commands, e.g. type (instead of cat in linux) then piping/output to a new file... I had no idea copy could be used this way :/
Aug 12, 2020 01:36
I have no idea at al how one became ansi... just tried again with the unicode and it seems to work... I had no idea copy could be used this way (THANK YOU!... and, I wish I read help!)... but why on earth did one file get created in different formatting, and, why does this cause an issue?!
Aug 12, 2020 01:34
Maybe there is an encoding issue... no idea how/why they changed... it was literally one file I copied to another :/
Aug 12, 2020 01:33
Aug 12, 2020 01:32
but, still, I don't get why it's merging like that :/ just one of those things... I don't care too much as the problem is solved, but, it's driving me crazy that I couldn't understand why it didn't work the simple way!
Aug 12, 2020 01:31
test.csv is double the size, I wonder if encoding messed up...
Aug 12, 2020 01:31
hmm...
Aug 12, 2020 01:31
there we go...
Aug 12, 2020 01:31
Aug 12, 2020 01:29
well, it still isn't working...
Aug 12, 2020 01:28
hmm... :/ I feel silly, that's completely new to me...
Aug 12, 2020 01:27
and, then even weirder... I tested the above by putting the following:

test 1a,test 1b
test 2a,test 2b

In test.csv, and copied to test2.csv

When I tried running copy *.csv merge.csv, it did do what I expected... but, it additionally added garbage at the bottom... (I'll try a screenshot...) why on earth did that happen :/
Aug 12, 2020 01:26
So... I have a folder with hundreds of CSV files... I want to merge in to one file so I can do a complex operation once on a column instead of hundreds of times...

Anyway, I tried a few things first to merge easily and I used powershell - get-content *.csv | add-content merge.csv

pretty simple... but I first tried a few things like "type *.csv > merge.csv" ... this failed because it tried piping merge.csv itself... so, went in a loop... can solve by having the merge in a different folder... but, don't care because the powershell worked.
Aug 12, 2020 01:24
heh! Hi... :)
Aug 12, 2020 01:21
Hi all, anyone around?! Going crazy with a small issue, and, wondered if anyone had a second or has a clue what's going on (I've solved, but, don't understand the problem...
Aug 27, 2018 10:57
anyway, thanks, you were right, local ports! :)
Aug 27, 2018 10:57
I think someone smarter than me may be able to do something, but, even repeating commands, I am getting forbidden from the local software... so, I think it uses one way commands and secure via the third party...
Aug 27, 2018 10:55
Aug 27, 2018 10:54
so, I think locally, it only accepts very basic commands
Aug 27, 2018 10:54
I think all it accepts is pings/very simple requests... it then uploads the results to a third party, returning just an ID and intel.com gets the results from that third party
Aug 27, 2018 10:51
I'm trying to work that out right now
Aug 27, 2018 10:51
yeah, where I saw the localhost access
Aug 27, 2018 10:49
you weren't wrong though - found requests to 127.0.0.1:28386 / 28387 / 28387
Aug 27, 2018 10:48
k, lol
Aug 27, 2018 10:48
where did you see that localhost 12345 or are you just doing an example? I can't see an open port
Aug 27, 2018 10:44
That's what I was wondering, sort of scared me/makes me wonder how the app is communicating... got
Aug 27, 2018 10:33
I'm intrigued how it is working
Aug 27, 2018 10:33
Aug 27, 2018 10:32
Hi guys, a quick one - was hoping someone may know... any idea how intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/… works? I'm confused as no extension or plugin, yet, it seems to be able to communicate to a desktop app and run downloads :/
Mar 21, 2018 09:15
will do, but, tbh, bitlocker is on and the only user that will have access to the file is the one that you need the password for!
