The other thing you can do is help him see that your good decisions reflect well on him too. Being that he's your one-up, your good (and bad) decisions are his accountability, so he should let you ride it and take credit for hiring the right person for the job. What's his problem?

What position should I take... a brand new one (if you can) to be honest.

Came here to say R.I.P. Mike! He fought and struggled and it's sad to see him go like this!

@TheLethalCarrot That is excessive. I dare say that's Shog's point though.

@Mithrandir Did I say 'plagiarised"? Whoops, I meant "vandalised". Sorry, brain's a wreck today and I need to take a break :)
Jun 18, 2018 22:34
@TheLethalCarrot Honestly, you did fine mate. No need to specify where that came from. Are people questioning that you plagiarised a post, or just being overly nit-picky? [thinking face]

@Randal'Thor You're forgetting that it's got a "good" answer from a "popular" member. It's possible it's got so many views due to the answer. :)

It seems like some sort of purgatory or staging area, perhaps part of his subconscious similar to HArry Potter's "King's Cross Station" sequence.

@NicolasRaoul Good question. I recommend you ask that on the site. I'd upvote that ;-)

Is there money involved? Like is there any possibility of them gaining something from this deal?

@AzorAhai Finding out the real-world connotations and origins is inconsequential, it is a phrase used by an African-American person, in an African-American slang manner. Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson, one of the "blackest" mfs around) is decidedly "black", or African-American. Just because others know and use the phrase, doesn't make it any less so.
Dec 13, 2019 04:04
It's relevant as "African-American slang" in this case because Nick Fury is, well, African-American, and is using slang. What's the problem?

A combination of plot armour, having Dany ride him and control him directly and the fact that he's the bigger, more bad ass one.

Sandor survived a horrible burning, and look at what it did to him. It can't be seen as a relatable action, no matter whether it was against enemies or innocents.
May 15, 2019 12:51
I think it's important to remember that using fire to kill people is not a pleasant action to take, that's the key here.

btw, I called 'mad Khaleesi' in like 2017.

Well, for one, the Earth would be split in half.

Jun 21, 2018 14:57
@Shog9 Ah, you're right. I don't accept the answer. Not for lack of ability, but out of choice. And I guess I'll have to leave it at that :) Thanks for your responses.
Jun 21, 2018 14:57
@Shog9 There are five positions because that's what the moderator team decided they needed Yes, at the time, it seemed like that was what was needed. But all I've heard so far (in this and the previous discussion) is that the two or three active mods are handling everything fine. So my point is, if we elected them there, why can't we question them now?
Jun 21, 2018 14:57
So the OP asks for more moderation involvement or visibility of their involvement, and you suffice to say that the "general" community is doing fine? Why have 5 moderator positions (some of which are seemingly unused) then? By the way, a genuine thank you; I know we're doing a bang-up job in this community (it's nice to hear it).

Jun 19, 2018 13:15
@Randal'Thor Also, thank you for always being rational and calm. For the record, you're not part of the problem.
Jun 19, 2018 13:15
@Randal'Thor Get some. But can you explain why this invariably becomes "Mods VS Community" and somehow the votes and discussions go in the way of the mods and the community looks like a bunch of whiney a-holes? Surely you all don't think we are?
Jun 19, 2018 13:15
@Null Regarding R/A and spam posts, many of those are detected by SmokeDetector and are deleted within seconds by autoflags Don't forget, that this i.s a site with many active users, who also contribute to flagging and handling stuff like that ;-)
Jun 19, 2018 13:15
@terdon but the votes clearly indicate one. Just not the one you seem to be advocating Who do you explain that as soon as that post got linked in what seemed to be the moderator chat room, suddenly the votes got heavily swayed in a certain direction? Unfortunately, when a group covers each others' backs for the sake of it, it's difficult to get a clear indication of where the true voices live (votes-wise).
Jun 19, 2018 13:15
@terdon none of the things you listed are a mod's job Yes, although unwritten that is in fact a Mod's job, or else why elect them from within the community? It seems like they're resting on their laurels, which smells to me.

Jun 19, 2018 00:16
If the community voted for, and in effect, put moderators where they are, why can't we question their actions after the fact?
Jun 19, 2018 00:15
I wonder if mentioning that our mods seem disengaged strikes a nerve?

@DarthVader Nope. You're awarding for participation, and that's not good enough. But that's like, my opinion man.

@TheLethalCarrot I second that.

I agree. There was contention in chat as well, not sure if it was in Mos or TREU.

Also, I'd disagree with there metric of 'reasonably active'

@Ward I'd say that one is a by-product of the other.

May 1, 2018 20:29
@Rogue I second that.

May 1, 2018 13:54
It'd simply be because they would have discussed it in one if their moderator chat rooms, all of whom apparently immediately agreed enough to upvote. I wonder, if this was a "normal" question, would that be counted as irregular voting? Like, do they have a voting ring going on there?
May 1, 2018 13:54
@Null and as I've mentioned before, it's not about the data, it's about how conducive to community-building the statis-quo is. Your numbers better be damn convincing.
May 1, 2018 13:54
"they're not posting enough answers" is certainly not the only concern of the community, nor should we be treated as children that don't understand how moderation works to think that that's all a moderator should do. It is merely an indication of their participation on this site. How do you moderate a site of which you seem to have no involvement in? (And by 'you' I mean the general 'you').
May 1, 2018 13:54
Moderators are elected You're right, and elected so by the community. It seems that the community (myself included) are concerned that there's a lack of participation from the mods; some, or perhaps only one.
May 1, 2018 13:54
So perhaps there's only one inactive mod. Still a problem depending on where they're at.
