I've already read that it adds an su app in the apps page so that is one change that would be obvious to even a novice smart phone user. I was just wondering if other changes become apparent once a user logs in as root instead of as the user security level that the phone comes shipped with. Am I not understanding what root is? If I got it right, how is the question not valid?
@Firelord I understand what root is. I used to be a linux guy. But once you get into a gui interface changing permissions or in this case logging in as root could change the way things work. I don't know much about how the gui on android works. But for example if the phone ships with a certain theme, apps, with the phones normal login being used and then a tech for example logs in as root it may look totally different so that it caters to a sys admin or somebody who needs that level of access.
@Izzy @LinX64 @Firelord @Manubhargav @TamoghnaChowdhury I asked a question and it got put on hold. I edited it but it's still on hold. Can somebody help me make the question better or take it off hold so I can get an answer to it? Thanks Link to the question: android.stackexchange.com/questions/127842/…
@Slytherincess Hey, I just went off on everybody it seems, lmfao. I haven't been on since last week and got on to find that I had 78 rep deleted, and that @praxis was removed. I was so pissed about that. Then someone just informed me that @richard has been removed. So I just posted an answer there. I really just wanted to pop on and off for a minute and ended up here for hours...ugh. How have you been?
With all of that being said, my biggest problem is that he was elected, and unless he did something egregious (racist, bigoted, direct violation of the rules, or multiple minor violations of the rules while ignoring warnings), he should only be removed by the community not by the powers that be, that's crazy. It makes me not want to vote for anything around here.
I never reported them or anything I just dealt with it and decided to get along with him. He was helpful in several situations and I know he did A LOT of mod work on here that others were not doing.
I just read the @Richard stuff. Obviously from what he posted he was asked to step down. I've had many run ins with Richard, probably as many as anybody else.
@JasonBaker I don't know about in china or russia, but in the USA arrests are public information, convictions are public information, indictments are public information, trials are public, sentencing hearings are public, that is not what happened here. In an enlightened (whatever that means) society we make things public so we can get to the truth and the people can keep the powers that be in check. That does not happen, here and it's hard to believe that @praxis did an egregious rule violation.
@WadCheber Inaction is harmless?!? You're way too smart to say that, umm...the holocaust, the japanses prisoners held during wwii, etc. etc. come on. You should retract that statement.
I was going to make a fuss when I was pissed at what was happening to me, but I decided to let it go. Now this makes me mad b/c @praxis doesn't deserve to be shunned, and there appears to be a disease spreading here of power hungry individuals that are messing it up for the community as a whole.
Union Square Ventures dumped I think six million in, my brother is NYC is good friends with Andy Weissman who is one of the senior partners. There, that's my connection that I've never revealed, f it. So yeah I can get a msg to the fund that invested a big chunk of the money that funds this site. Yeah he's about ten levels than a freakin CM whatever that is.
@ThePopMachine He man, tired of the crap around here, doing more fun stuff. Couldn't believe that I just logged on for the first time since Friday I think, and to find out Richard stepped down, I lost 78 rep, and @Praxis has been banned. CRAZY....
@WadCheber you know that's bs, don't be a wuss, it's not your style. Not only should we not participate but we should send a group letter to the group that finances the site. I know one of the owners of the group. We could send him a group email or something like that to let him know all of the bs that's been going on around here.
