Ok, good night! Talk to you tomorrow!

Another red flag was that the car was washed squeaky clean. Engine too. I once read that a clean engine is a red flag as well. He might be trying to hide a leak or something. The car test drove good though.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Makes sense. Most likely I won't buy it. Thanks for the input!

I'm thinking he might be trying to run a scam with the title of the car or something, but I'm not sure. The location is Canada BTW.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Thanks Paul. I actually asked the question here. Basically I have viewed a car today, test drove it, everything was good as far as I can tell, but the seller wants cash only. He doesn't accept bank transfer, which is non-reversible.

@Alexander Most software development teams are not trying to develop a new language. They are just trying to solve a business problem. That's what I meant.

@whatsisname What is the difference between code generation and compilation? The output of compilation is binary, which is something designed to be used by a computer (or similar, such as a virtual machine). The output of code generation is text, which is something designed to be used by a human. However, the funny thing is, the output of code generation should not be used by a human. So, code generation is a matter of choosing the wrong tool for the job, right?

@whatsisname Edited question.

@whatsisname Edited title.

@ErikEidt So, code generators exist to make up for the shortcomings of the programming languages. Is that what you meant?
Dec 1, 2017 13:31
@ErikEidt Could you elaborate on that in your answer maybe with an example?

"Everything is data", that's right, but why generate code? Why not make it into a function that receives the required parameters and act on them? That's what I don't understand here.

@LightnessRacesinOrbit Wrestlers, boxers are not terrible people. That's because that is their job. OTOH, software development does not involve jumping on someone when you have a disagreement.
Jul 5, 2017 21:48
@LightnessRacesinOrbit Bullshit. Nothing legitimizes physical assault. The aggressor could have simply stopped responding to OP and the discussion would have ended. With your point of view, everywhere should be a jungle and whomever more aggressive should be right.

@Magisch And this is the part that does not make sense. You have created an added value, yet the company can still take over that added value and fire you, because they are legally able to do so. If the laws allow you to be punished for creating added value, then there is something terribly wrong here. (I am considering the "ethically correct" scenario while saying these: The OP has notified the company the same month that he created the script, and the script does not add errors to the result.)
Jun 29, 2017 08:04
@Magisch After all, the position given to the OP is a position that exists entirely due to the incompetence of the management.
Jun 29, 2017 08:04
@Magisch At the end of the day, what happens if the OP tells about this to his employer? If the employer is able to legally get rid of the OP just because they don't need him anymore, this does not make sense at all. The OP has created an added value. If the added value that he produced legally belongs to the company, and if the company is legally able to fire the employee and take over his script, this is just not right.
Jun 29, 2017 08:04
@Magisch Even if the contract says 40hrs/week, consider the following scenario: The OP has not automated the workflow and is working 40hrs/week to get the job done but the work is not done on time. Would the management be OK with this? The OP has indeed worked 40hrs/week. However, the management will look at the results, and indicate that the work is not done. This fact pretty much makes the contract type of the OP (task based or hours based) irrelevant.

Could you explain why does ''OR(1=1)OR'a'='' return all rows?
