What is your original notice period, mentioned in the contract?

Jul 20, 2023 06:25
Sorry if I'm misreading this, but you say "I already am an introverted person that too with some flavor of social anxiety". In my experience, the other team members are supposed to have a problem to get you into their "gang", not the other way around. What am I missing?

Good , good. Happy for you.
Dec 17, 2022 19:25
Ending the year on a high note, eh?
Dec 17, 2022 19:24
@motosubatsu Congratulations!!
Dec 17, 2022 19:24
It's been long, how are you all?
Dec 17, 2022 19:21
Hiya!
Sep 2, 2020 13:35
@Lilienthal that's a close-vote request generator script, I (and many others) use this is SO (for SOCVR Room). The trigger is manual, formatting and post is automatic.
Jul 29, 2020 17:59
@Old_Lamplighter Good option, but not an option here. With lockdown in effect, if you want to enter the office campus, you need a justification and permission from various levels - so even if I wanted to go, I could not.

Oct 7, 2022 16:25
Address is fine, so is distance from office (can be obtained easily). but how do they know you live in a shared accommodation? Oh...your colleagues.....
Oct 7, 2022 16:25
How do they know about how you live?

Jul 28, 2022 21:03
@terdon Well, I don't know if I'm making a "claim" as such, all I can say is that there is a universal (or global, or publicly available/ known) statement, and from my personal experience, I can attest to that. Now, whether that statement is applicable to anyone specific - I cannot ascertain that. However, if you say that it is not correct, you are free do do so and provide your use-case / example. There's nothing absolutely right or absolutely wrong, just what works for most of the people. :)
Jul 28, 2022 21:03
@terdon While I respect your view, can you provide some evidence that mentions otherwise?
Jul 28, 2022 21:03
@Maxime Well, google produce multiple results, including this one.

Feb 25, 2022 15:21
many team leads (I am not a team lead) do not even have cell phones. really? in 2022? which industry and which country, please?

Nov 9, 2021 08:57
that's all
Nov 9, 2021 08:57
I'm not contesting the fact the OP should do what is asked of them, but it's also good to know what the usual norm is, around the geographies.
Nov 9, 2021 08:56
so I was wondering how about that in Australia
Nov 9, 2021 08:56
I know one thing, say for example, in western countries, it's generally okay to address people by their name , irrespective of the rank/ seniority, especially for IT/ Software industries/ Corporates
Nov 9, 2021 08:54
@GregoryCurrie that's what
Nov 9, 2021 08:53
not "sir" / "madam" etc
Nov 9, 2021 08:53
however, once we get into the industry, it is taught to us, that you can (and you should) address everyone by their name
Nov 9, 2021 08:53
In my culture, addressing someone senior by name is a strictly no-no.
Nov 9, 2021 08:52
As you probably know
Nov 9, 2021 08:52
This comes off as strange to me as well
Nov 9, 2021 08:52
rather my own understanding
Nov 9, 2021 08:52
This is not exactly related with OP's question
Nov 9, 2021 08:51
OK, thanks
Nov 9, 2021 08:45
@GregoryCurrie again, not from my point of view, but yours. The approach you suggested is perfectly fine, but from your point of view, do you see a problem if the addressing is "Hi Bobby"? I was asking for your opinion, based on your point of view, given that you're in the situation (to address someone higher-up).
Nov 9, 2021 08:45
@GregoryCurrie it goes both ways, I believe. While I do not want to impose my cultural preference on others, it's expected the same would be reciprocated. IMO, addressing someone by their first name is not derogatory or humiliating - sure, someone may prefer to be addressed with a title and first/ last name, but that is a preference, not a requirement.
Nov 9, 2021 08:45
@GregoryCurrie I never mentioned anything about OP's situation, I asked for your opinion on my views. You don't agree or you do not understand that - fine. This specific approach about "You opinion on the matter doesn't matter" is not applicable in this case.
Nov 9, 2021 08:45
@GregoryCurrie , or maybe a "Dear Mr. Smith"? But frankly speaking, I do not see a problem with "Hello Alan" either. Do you?
Nov 9, 2021 08:45
I would start an e-mail with "Hi Bobby" to a very high level executive at our company how else you (one) should start? I'm interested!

Apr 30, 2021 10:56
@PeteW Even if that's the case, they should do better that "close the ticket".

Feb 12, 2021 17:51
I don't want this protracted baloney of negotiations and all that malarkey that's a skill, one of many important ones to land a job.
Feb 12, 2021 17:51
many interviews contain a round where you have to submit a mockup project - not very common, but not unheard of either.

Jan 19, 2021 15:42
One of the participants was my coworker and close colleague how do you know? Observed firsthand , or hearsay, or guess? Were the office premise not monitored (CCTV or otherwise)? Were there no security personnel?

Dec 24, 2020 19:09
Nothing ever happened between them then where do those emails come from?

Dec 11, 2020 12:53
New role in the same company or different one?
Dec 11, 2020 12:53
As discussed...when, with whom?

Nov 12, 2020 14:35
I'm not sure you really need an answer from others sir, but I still posted one on the face value of the question.

Sep 2, 2020 13:15
@Ertai87 I do, that's why I'm thinking, a plain "yes" might not be best answer for this, as there might be other readers of this Q&A.
Sep 2, 2020 13:15
@Ertai87 I don't think it's comparable to meeting, rather commute to workplace. YMMV.
Sep 2, 2020 13:15
@Ertai87 I don't think for contracts, technically "vacation" exists, it's for full-time employyes?
Sep 2, 2020 13:15
@Ertai87 And why is that? I can send email by EOD Monday, take off Tuesday and Wednesday, get back to laptop on Thursday and universe will be in order, right? Can still bill for 20 hours, and won't be blocked, per se. As TP mentioned, we can have a 5 minute billing for email checks, as needed.
Sep 2, 2020 13:15
Specifically with the Cap in place, it's just half the standard 40-hour schedule.

Aug 5, 2020 16:06
What is that you want to achieve? it seems to me a X-Y problem, and not specifically related to workplace.
