For what is worth I recall learning about logarithms, slide rules and mantissa well before being 10 years old. That was a long time ago...

I have been many times at the Brussels airport and I don't recall any mw oven facility. I would in any case prefer (for hygienic reasons) to use one which is in a (hopefully) clean restaurant rather than one which is "in the open", for baby food.

Apr 12, 2019 09:10
One cannot help but why do they suggest that? Economic reasons to use what would be otherwise unsold, or misguided pseudo science...

Based on my experience in Germany, assume that everything is carbonated. I was driven crazy from this, and resorted to beer. I recall the joy of a uber expensive bottle of evian water bought at the airport.

Aug 22, 2016 21:27
@fredley you're welcome
Aug 22, 2016 20:57
@fredley so it was rather silly, I only wanted to get in contact for that
Aug 22, 2016 20:47
@fredley Nothing crucial :-) I noticed on your profile a possible typo. You write "BiaTelli", I guess it stands for "BiaLetti".But I don't know maybe it's an inside joke that I am missing... or maybe there is a Biattelli brand who specializes in moka machines :-)
Aug 22, 2016 18:15
Hi @fredley I'm trying to get in touch with you but apparently your site doesn't have an email to get in touch. Is there a way to talk with you?
Aug 22, 2016 18:14
Hi @fredl

One of the best answers across all SE network. It's not about security, it's an answer about human behaviour

 Root Access

For all you Super Users out there. You have backups, right?
Mar 13, 2016 22:49
have to now, thanks for the suggestions
Mar 13, 2016 21:41
@Psycogeek this is an interesting point
Mar 13, 2016 21:31
@Psycogeek yep that's my approach too (the most important parts being systematic and only connect for the needed time). But I would like something less reliand on my "systematicity".
Mar 13, 2016 21:25
@Psycogeek if I find a good up-to-date blog post like the one that I linked earlier, I am able to make it work. But if I have to spend too much time researching it (and maybe missing something important).... it's better to spend some money on it and have "at least" something.
Mar 13, 2016 21:17
My question is more on building such a setup. I like the idea of a backup server managin the file server (the NAS). But I am a bit past my geeky days (or better, I'm well into my "daddy" days) and so I am not up to date with all the possible solutions or all the potential problems that I could face.
Mar 13, 2016 21:16
@Psycogeek Thanks, I read it a few minutes ago. (By the way I read on reddit a nice piece on ransomware by an anti-phishing company: today was a day devoted to thinking to security issues)
Mar 13, 2016 21:12
Mar 13, 2016 21:12
I'd like to ask you for some pointer about a NAS based backup strategy
Mar 13, 2016 21:12
I see you are discussing ransomware
Mar 13, 2016 21:11
hello everybody :-)

 The DMZ

A serious place where infosec is discussed PS we don't do hard...
Mar 1, 2016 16:46
ok, have to go now. Thanks everybody for the advices and the links shared.
Mar 1, 2016 16:41
@ThomasPornin @ThomasPornin for what is Worth, please accept a thank you by me, too. Really, I have learned many things from your posts.
Mar 1, 2016 16:02
I'm loving KeePass... thanks for pointing me in its direction.
Mar 1, 2016 14:20
by the way maybe it's me but the kind folks at keepass could opt for https over http
Mar 1, 2016 14:09
@Simon For me the point is being open source and so "checkable" by the experts. I am happy to pay/donate for a good product
Mar 1, 2016 14:04
look please let's get back to the original topics, we were discussing this new drown attack (@ThomasPornin took care of that) password managers (we have +2 for keepass, +1 for not using them) and german culture
Mar 1, 2016 14:03
:-)
Mar 1, 2016 14:03
I was bashing german food and I was bashed for being italian
Mar 1, 2016 14:02
no I didn't take offence since I guessed it was for laughing
Mar 1, 2016 14:01
@MarkBuffalo that's an interesting point of view. I have too many accounts and I don't care any longer for creating passwords
Mar 1, 2016 14:00
@MarkBuffalo that could be but I have been in Dresden, Aachen, berlin, koln. I found food Always a bit on the heavy side
Mar 1, 2016 13:59
@Simon really the worst was carbonated water :-)
Mar 1, 2016 13:58
@MarkBuffalo maybe I was simply too old. If I had gone when I was younger eating wurstel fries and cabbage for 3 weeks straight would have been much easier
Mar 1, 2016 13:58
@MarkBuffalo I know, but it is amusing to read such a warning label on the download page of a password manager
Mar 1, 2016 13:57
@SEJPM hey when I was in Berlin I was amazed by the city. It was Amazing, much Beyond what I expected. On the other hand food was .. ok food was like I imagined it :-)
Mar 1, 2016 13:55
Mar 1, 2016 13:55
From the download page, the precise definition of what one appreciates in a password manager "If you get a warning that the signature of a downloaded file is corrupt/invalid: this is a false alarm and can be ignored. " :-D
Mar 1, 2016 13:51
@SEJPM ah great
Mar 1, 2016 13:51
Do you use it also on the smartphone?
Mar 1, 2016 13:50
@Ohnana @SEJPM thanks, +2 for keepass. I like it being open source, and by the way in the feature list I see that they mention bruce schneier "KeePass can import TXT files created by Bruce Schneier's Password Safe v2" (from keepass.info/features.html)
Mar 1, 2016 13:47
The last 2 are OSS which seems a good feature. Could you please help me to assess if any of these have glaring problems (I suppose not) or if one of those is much above the Others?
Mar 1, 2016 13:47
So I'd like to tap your knowledge with regard to password managers. I know enough about security to know that I am unable to appraise if they are doing proper things or not. I have found out 1password, keepass and password safe (which is by bruce schneier who is Always very interesting to read. But for some reason password safe appears to be not much famous)
Mar 1, 2016 13:35
So if the question has been asked, can I proceed with my shopping list recommendation? Pretty please?
Mar 1, 2016 13:28
Now as it Always happens with your links I will have to read and try to understand. So long for a peaceful afternoon...
Mar 1, 2016 13:27
Uff I hoped to be able to ask a simple shopping question to you and instead I find out that you are discussing a new urgent threat ...
Mar 1, 2016 13:22
hello everybody :)

@slhck ok thanks for the support. I needed it :-) Have to go now! see you soon on SU.
Sep 13, 2013 20:34
@slhck thanks for the support. As I told, maybe I just needed to "express" my feelings, there is no issue on my part
Sep 13, 2013 20:32
@slhck Thanks for replying. I must say that this one was maybe one of the "worst" experience (I don't want to make it appear bigger than it really is: for me the goal is finding an answer while providing potentially useful info for future searchers). But I must say that I have found on more than one instance a different attitute from, say, SO, or Photo.SE which are the two sites where I have most experience
