Cool I'll give it a go and hopefully I won't break anything.
Jan 13, 2022 10:06
Yeah it is on its own part

I'm a hybrid between CLI and GUI. A part of me yearns the purity of CLI, but I know my limits.

They all claim to be back-up-able, but I always end up tweaking my firefox toolbar every time I install.
Jan 13, 2022 09:58
Yep, backups are in place, but there's a load of things I can never seem to back up, like OS settings, IDE Config, browser config, etc.
Jan 13, 2022 09:46
I really hope I don't need to reinstall, but that's usually the way.
Jan 13, 2022 09:46
I wonder whether I can move to old-releases and then do-release-upgrade?
Jan 13, 2022 09:45
20.10 isn't a LTS is it? So I should have upgraded through the versions to 21.04 and 21.10, but I've never had any alert to tell me to do this, and now my release is dead.
Jan 13, 2022 09:45
Thanks, I'll check these out.
Jan 13, 2022 09:40
It just came back into my memory. A sense of panic does that to you.
Jan 13, 2022 09:40
Haha well it's been about 6 years since I last hanged out in here, and back then it was thriving.
Jan 13, 2022 09:40
Thanks @terdon
Jan 13, 2022 09:33
Also I've just noticed that this chat is only 5 people, so maybe it's not the best place to frantically look for help :D
Jan 13, 2022 09:32
I know this is a simple error that can be fixed by knowing a little bit about apt but I'm stupid and can't seem to figure out the issue from other stack exchange answers I've read.
Jan 13, 2022 09:32
Hi everyone, can anyone help a poor boy in need out with some quick advice? I'm running 20.10 and have left apt un-updated for too long, and now I can't seem to do anything with apt update as I'm getting the error The repository 'http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu groovy Release' no longer has a Release file.

Q: LVM encryption passphrase wrong on three separate Ubuntu PCs this week

GregOn Tuesday, I booted my work PC (Intel NUC) to find that I had forgotten the decryption passphrase. The one I've used for 6 years every morning. The night before I remember upgrading through apt-get, but couldn't work out how to downgrade via a live CD, and seeing how a bust day was ahead, I chos...

Feb 7, 2016 11:32
I reinstalled the first one, assuming hardware failure... But now the same issue has occurred on my other two separate computers!
Feb 7, 2016 11:31
Oh no... All of my Ubuntu computers have died this week after upgrading.

As a tall person, those racer type chairs are killer for my back. They have a "neck rest" that is perfectly positioned in the centre of my torso.
