@MayankSharma doubtful that you can - kernels just like applications are compiled for the distro and the toolchain that distro uses. Why do you want to use such an old kernel on ubuntu?

wayland isn't actually a "thing" - its a "language" - you use the language to express what you want to visualise

17.10 runs mutter - which is a compositor - and it also supports the wayland protocol
