I can install deb packages through their sort of a buildout script, but it doesn't resolve requirements so what good does it do.

Dec 10, 2012 02:11
So it stores hardcoded links to libs?
Dec 10, 2012 02:10
Do you think throwing the openslide.so files into libvips/lib/ will work?
Dec 10, 2012 02:09
@jrg So I am back to start line. I guess I will have to compile on my dev box and figure out a way how to run it there. I can get the compiled folders to that machine I jsut don't know how to put it together
Dec 10, 2012 02:08
@JorgeCastro Interesting, is there a way to install package locally? Without sudo rights
Dec 10, 2012 02:06
@JorgeCastro that link is givving 500
Dec 10, 2012 02:05

Dec 10, 2012 02:05
package A is libopenslide, package B is libvips tools
Dec 10, 2012 02:03
I have just conf/make/mak inst both packages to a dir in my home folder, now if program B uses program A as a library. Can I just copy program As openslide.so into program Bs ./lib/ folder?
Dec 10, 2012 02:01
I have been compiling it for myself on my pc. But now I have to deploy the code to a remote machine and I am not sure how to "package it" or something, to get it to work there.

I would never curse your name, it's way too long.
Afaik juju can be bad and good, at least that is how my ex-coworker explained it to me. Funny thing he was born and raised Muslim, then converted to Christianity but still believed in juju. Interesting how mind always finds a way if there is will.
Also please don't ban me, I am not trying to be political or religious or something, just an interesting tidbit.
Oct 16, 2012 20:51
thanks
Oct 16, 2012 20:42
premature optimization...something something....problems :)
Oct 16, 2012 20:35
@AbrahamVanHelpsing well that is my train of thought, but I always think too far ahead and make life more difficult for myself. But I totally agree with you.
Oct 16, 2012 20:32

As in write a question on SA?
Oct 16, 2012 21:14
Good afternoon gentleman I have a question most of you might find trivial.
I am would like to have a table of microscope slides, where each slide should have a number of editable "properties".
Imagine one slide having tumor_type, dye_type, description, date_injected and another slide could have for example patient_name, treated_since, description. I can't store these all in slides table because I would like users to be able to add properties when they wish to. Each property shoul also have a type, since some are integers, some text and some for example date and time.
