@Ashar7 Hello

Aug 31, 2017 20:33
Update to my question: The case that I have works with this newer, more expensive charger. I have this older, cheaper charger.
Aug 30, 2017 18:31
I am planning on buying this sometime next week.
Aug 30, 2017 18:29
I am looking for a case for my Samsung Galaxy S8+. It must work with my Samsung wireless charger without taking off the case. I have tried a Samsung flip case, but it requires me to remove my phone to charge it wirelessly. I think the one I have is the "Clear View Standing Cover". I do like how it has the clear "flap" that covers the screen when not in use, so the replacement should have that as well. Any ideas of what I could get that works with my wireless charger?
Aug 29, 2017 17:48
@RandomDSdevel Sorry for the delay (again). I can't think of where you can go to ask about that. I know stack exchange is out. You might have some luck with Tom's Hardware, but I don't know much about what exactly is in their scope. Good Luck!
Aug 21, 2017 21:35
Please see this meta post if you have any questions.
Aug 21, 2017 21:34
Computer/Phone cases, cables, ties etc are all off topic
Aug 21, 2017 21:33
@RandomDSdevel Sorry I didn't answer your question. If I am understanding you correctly, that question would be off topic here, as it is not a computer device (I forget the term that we used when this was in private beta, but hopefully you get the idea).
Aug 21, 2017 19:36
Good luck!
Aug 21, 2017 19:36
@thesecretmaster Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you do decided to upgrade the processor, stop by here and we will help you out.
Aug 21, 2017 19:34
@RandomDSdevel This place doesn't see much activity, especially over the weekends. You don't have to scroll up too far to see "25 days later..."
Aug 21, 2017 19:32
As long as you are detailed in the description of your problem, SU would be able to help you. Show screenshots, list complete specs, and describe what you have tried to do to help the issue and someone should be able to help you.
Aug 21, 2017 19:29
This is why I thought troubleshooting your issue a bit more might be worthwhile.
Aug 21, 2017 19:29
@thesecretmaster The FX-6300 should still be able to handle the load. Unfortunately, there isn't much to choose from in the form of an upgrade. AM3 processors will work in a AM3+ board, so there might be a downgrade that might work better for you. If you want to upgrade the motherboard, you will also have to buy more RAM, as the latest Intel and AMD chips use DDR4.
Aug 18, 2017 14:45
Also, AM4 is quite new, so your processor is less than a year old. I am suspecting something else going on with your system. You might want to ask a question on SuperUser to confirm that it is the processor before you throw hardware at your issue.
Aug 18, 2017 14:44
Just to clarify, you have 32 GB of RAM correct?
Aug 18, 2017 14:42
@thesecretmaster I would add details about your current processor. We do not want to recommend the same processor that you already have.
Aug 16, 2017 17:39
@thesecretmaster I know that it is late, but what is your question? I would be happy to take a look for you.
Jul 31, 2017 17:25
@AaronHall I'm glad that you found everything that you need. Even better that you were able to fix your old humidifier.
Jul 25, 2017 17:31
Also for the humidifier, is this a single room or whole house humidifier? I dont have any recommendations for either, but hopefully someone might.
Jul 25, 2017 17:30
I will have to look around if book storage is a must.
Jul 25, 2017 17:28
@AaronHall I know it doesn't hold books, but have you thought about a monitor stand? Something like hardwarerecs.stackexchange.com/a/427/60
Jul 14, 2017 19:12
@kim366 Something seems off. I have an FX-8350 (I think) and I have nowhere near those temps. If you haven't yet, I would try asking on superuser. They should be able to help you figure out what is wrong with you system. If you do need a new motherboard/CPU, please come back here and we will help you find the parts that you need
Feb 10, 2017 18:43
@NickAlexeev I think it would work, but we would need more requirements first. I don't know enough of what they are trying to do to actually help them find the product that they are looking for. If they can provide a budget, output wattage/amperage, and any other features that they want, I think we can make it work.
Sep 13, 2016 14:13
Plus the wired headphones hurt my ears after 30 minutes or so. It would be better if they had different options to choose from.
Sep 13, 2016 14:11
I do like the idea of the airpods, but there a rip off at $160.
Sep 13, 2016 14:03
@JourneymanGeek I thought you were joking, but it actually exists belkin.com/us/p/P-F8J198
Sep 13, 2016 13:59
If there was a good android phone that did not have the port, I would have to think long and hard before purchasing.
Sep 13, 2016 13:57
@JourneymanGeek I know it comes with an adapter, but then you can't use it and charge your phone at the same time.
Sep 12, 2016 15:43
Is the removal of the headphone jack a big deal?
Sep 12, 2016 15:42
(in an attempt to get the community talking) What are your thoughts on the new iPhone?

Jun 29, 2017 19:31
Thanks for being civil with this matter. I will be sure to link the transcript of this discussion in the next meta post about Tech Support questions.
Jun 29, 2017 19:19
@AwokeKnowing Answers that don't explain why they recommend something are not high quality and are not very useful to anyone. It is also part of the reason why we like having one component per question. We can explain things more in-depth and it is actually easier for us to make sure all components are compatible and will be the best fit for the requirements.
Jun 29, 2017 18:54
Maybe there is something I am missing or something that I made unclear. It might help to have an extra pair of eyes (or two) to go over all the arguments.
Jun 29, 2017 18:53
If you would like, I can message the other mods to take a look at not only the question, but this discussion.
Jun 29, 2017 18:46
Maybe then you can ask how you can find that out yourself. That way is it not only useful for you, but anyone else who might have the same issue later. I do know SU likes to teach people how to fish, so to speak.
Jun 29, 2017 18:39
Sorry if it seems like I am ignoring you or are slow to answer. I am trying to find relevant Meta posts.
Your question of will "there will be enough PCIe lanes or if the root hardware list will of necessity involve a bandwidth bottleneck due to the hardware itself" sounds like it should be on topic for SU as well.
Please don't take any of this conversation like I don't agree with the points you are making. It is important for discussions like this to exist. Unfortunately, SU is the place for those discussions.
Jun 29, 2017 18:21
If I am not mistaken, another mod is working on yet another question about these questions I will be sure to link this discussion there.
Jun 29, 2017 18:19
I understand what you are asking, it's just outside the scope for this site. I will try to find the Meta posts that we have had to discuss these types of questions.
Jun 29, 2017 18:13
Here is an example of those types of questions: https://hardwarerecs.stackexchange.com/search?q=user%3A60+is%3Aquestion+college
I would word my questions something like "Here is what I am trying to do. This is the component I am thinking about. Here are my concerns about it. Here are my requirements for this piece. What piece of hardware do you recommend for this task?"
Jun 29, 2017 18:09
If you want those kind of answers, I would ask about each part individually, but make sure to leave them open ended to allow better recommendations.
Jun 29, 2017 18:07
Those types of question are better suited for SU. The reason why they are not on topic here is because they are on topic there.
Jun 29, 2017 17:58
We like it when users do their homework here as well. "I have looked at these, but I have these concerns" or "this won't work because of reasons"
Jun 29, 2017 17:57
Then you can reword your question to something like "I have this setup. I am thinking about using this SSD, but I am worried about bottlenecks for the GPU. What storage device should I use?"
Jun 29, 2017 17:50
While Super User doesn't have many questions about hardware, they are on topic and the users over there can still answer them. This site exists to help users find the computer or computer hardware to complete a task.
Jun 29, 2017 17:44
We have a few series of questions that ask for help building a computer from scratch. I can point you to the one I created if you would like.
Jun 29, 2017 17:42
@AwokeKnowing Build reviews are also off topic, as they tend to be broad. We prefer questions to focus on one piece of hardware and encourage multiple questions if need be.
Jun 29, 2017 17:40
I agree, but nowhere in the question are you asking for a recommendation. You are not asking what SSD you should purchase or what GPUs to use. Your question is only about bottlenecks and PCIe Lanes.
Jun 29, 2017 17:40
The problem is that you are not asking what hardware to buy, but if there will be bottlenecks and where, which is a technical question. Tech questions like that are handled on super user.
Jun 29, 2017 17:40
Welcome to Hardware Recs! Unfortunately, this question isn't asking for a hardware recommendation, so it is off topic for this site. As the close reason states, you might have better luck over at Super User. Good luck finding the answer you are looking for!
