Dec 7, 2024 16:39
if that game came out when i was kid, it wouldve been amazing
Dec 7, 2024 16:38
poe looked cool, but i couldnt play it. Because it would take me literally days to make a decision on the skill tree
Oct 14, 2024 06:43
done. Thanks pikalek!
Oct 14, 2024 06:38
As soon as I figure out how to move it :)
Oct 14, 2024 06:37
I was thinking to delete it, because it seems to be more of a complaint than a question. But I see no harm in moving it to meta instead, and will do so. Thanks!

same. no experience
Jul 15, 2024 17:47
time estimates are hard for me
how long to write fizz buzz? 2 weeks
how long to write world of warcraft? 2 weeks
Jul 15, 2024 17:47
its also very difficult for an expert to assess their own gaps!

curious - what reference size do you all use for your unity canvases?
May 31, 2024 15:28

Oct 12, 2023 20:45
I meant the all curve. but both
Oct 12, 2023 20:45
interesting
Oct 12, 2023 01:11
love that chart you posted dmgregory
Oct 12, 2023 01:04
ive spent at least a month with pretty much every game engine. They all have their pros and cons
Oct 9, 2023 17:01
Unreal and unity may have some bloat, but it’s worth it. Don’t you want extra cup holders in your car even though you’ll never use them? :-p
Oct 9, 2023 16:59
Writing your own engine. But you still won’t need to do your own rendering
Oct 9, 2023 16:59
Native isn’t
Oct 9, 2023 16:58
Unless you’re doing it for educational reasons, there is no reason to do your own rendering
Oct 9, 2023 16:57
My advice is either Unity or unreal or native
Oct 9, 2023 16:56
That’s the wonder of modern game engines. You don’t need to do the rendering
Oct 9, 2023 16:55
It depends on how expensive the post-load work is
Oct 9, 2023 16:55
Scene activation might work. I don’t know. I’m still thinking about it
Oct 9, 2023 16:54
I want to be able to show the screen immediately without having the user wait for it to load. But I don’t want the expensive server calls unless they actually want to see the content
Oct 9, 2023 16:23
Thoughts?
Oct 9, 2023 16:22
I’m also thinking about making a SceneMonobehaviour base class that breaks up script loading so I can preload entire scenes without making server calls until I want to activate the preloaded scene
Oct 9, 2023 16:20
I’m considering making a base class for ALL monobehaviours in my project. EvorlorMonobehaviour. I don’t have a particular need. My thinking is if I do, I’ll be set up in the future. Think this is a bad idea?
Sep 23, 2023 16:00
that sounds fantastic. I hope there arent any strings attached
Sep 23, 2023 05:06
so we can use unity free for development and release, and not upgrade to pro until we make $200k? With custom splash screen?
Aug 31, 2023 18:55
