Hey @Luaan, of course not it's not. Just wanted to point out from my personal experience. It's what I am secure to speak of, it's our reality.
Jun 28, 2016 11:09
@SteffenUllrich sure, that's why I commented it out - I feel that you left out when the developer simply have no condition (be time constraints or simply lack of knowledge, bad management). I agree with you 1337%.

It's not always human stupidity thou (at least not by the part of the developer)! I know many brazilian companies who do a cheap tatic here: They hire instead of full-fledge developers, they hire a bunch of trainees to avoid taxes and pay less their employees. And these are big companies! Such juniors have yet no knowledge (some of them are on their first semester of their studies) or even awareness of such problems, and are placed with the responsability to build systems that will be, of course, flawed. I have seen this too much here. I could even give 5 to 6 names. It's a really sad thing.

I would comment just "No", but it was too short for that.

I even provided examples on companies that make this kind of actions. Of course, there is little material to it, as employees of these companies would also receive this kind of punishment.

See; I Thought the workplace didn't entered in legalese terms that much. It's a answer to OP question : "Are there other alternatives?

More generally, what should be the manager do to prevent this person to unintentionally harm the team, and eventually make this person productive?"
It's not a good option, sure, I can understand that. But it answer the question nonetheless.
Mar 17, 2015 13:21
Why the negative feedback? Is it a bad answer?

Q: A coworker rejected my romantic advances and I got her fired, how do I recover from this?

tomho529So this was a while back, when I was working as a Project Coordinator (I've been promoted now), a new PC joined our team and it was my job to train her. Now that my vm is fixed, I don't know if it would work. What I was doing was retracting and adding it. I wanted to find a solution, some members of my team are having the same problem. Anyone have any suggestion?

Q: Sharepoint Deployment not updating webparts

MalavosAlright. I have just made changes to a custom webpart that was already deployed to Sharepoint. I made a few deploys, some changes... and suddenly, a code that was in the front-end of the webpart didn't update. I found it strange, and I added a comment to the HTML code. Guess what? I made another...
