@JenniferVitales you need to write something after that to reply to the post

It’s like it’s developed by devs 😅

12:46
I was trying to switch to the syadmin side at the last job (less insane hours) but got blocked
12:45
Well, as much as I enjoy mucking with services and hardware, work's mostly been tech support :D
12:44
and I have spare hardware lying around
12:44
the latter
12:43
(nothing in 'production' of course, my current setup with incus works fine)
12:43
I've been meaning to mess with it at some point :D
12:43
lol
12:38
in theory the current k8s move would let them have a failover elsewhere I think.
12:37
(that said, I doubt I'll be in the side of the company that handles/decides that, unless I suddenly switch hosting philosophies and do a Cesar :D)
12:36
yup
12:32
someone knew where to apply percussive maintainance fast
12:32
@wizzwizz4 while I 'understand' - one of the things I miss about SE rolling their own (everything) is you didn't rely on external resources if things went poof
12:28
I almost want to say it feels like one server hasn't cached the image yet, and something kicks it to be cached, but I'm not a real SRE :D
12:27
tbf, at this point cloudflare is a single point of failure for SE
11:18
the workaround seems to try with another internet connection, which might hint at caching?
11:18
same image serving server
11:13
lotsa complaints post SE image hosting on main meta
11:13
ah yeah
11:12
well the other way around
11:12
@Jakobian is it the one that where it randomly appears/disappears?
08:14
we'll see then
08:14
@Otakuwu I've got some fans that actually fit the case on order, and some heatsinks in case its the VRMs so...
08:13
@Otakuwu That was the most COC/Be nice compliant option :D
08:12
16:11:16 up 1 day, 1:15, 2 users, load average: 2.14, 2.17, 2.26 looks like the VM box is stable as long as I keep the VRMs cool and don't clobber the SSD

Q: How do I boot into single-user mode from GRUB?

Aleksei AverchenkoAfter changing a few lines in xorg.conf, I can no longer boot Ubuntu (I assume it breaks when trying to load up X), so I need a way to boot into a single-user mode. However, there seems to be zero guides on the Internet how to do it, because they all assume I can actually edit files on my compute...

07:50
@LoicSabineMarie before you do that see if you can get into single user mode. Else just install again
02:22
@XanderHenderson in which case @Otakuwu is clearly a automaton :D

yst 23:51

yst 23:50

yst 23:50

in theory that's what smart switches are tho
02:43
low voltage is a 'new' thing and high voltage is still more efficient

I'll be replaving the 120mm with a pair of 90s and adding heatsinks to the inductors cause they're the only part that seems to run hot still
00:03
this is the currently stable set up + I've the SSD fan plugged in
yst 23:59
addiing fans keeps it stable
