 Artisan Spammer Cannery and Loanshar

We can spammers and do the one form of ethical shark hunting
00:37
all good to here.
yst 23:29
I've all these opened up, David got a bunch, I'll work through these over breakfast
yst 16:39
And when I chase ambulances, people are like "Bad dog" and "WHAT ARE YOU DOING"
yst 15:14
not chasing the search for now, It needs a little more attention, and I'll throw it on my (sadly substancial) backlog
yst 15:14
got all the individual ones
yst 14:06
good to here
yst 14:01
putting a marker here
yst 13:53
I'd consider the first one a false positive
yst 13:53
also has a lot of content
yst 13:51
wouldn't be much use without a better bulk deletion tool
yst 13:51
Yeah, but honestly? I've a few hundred profiles I need to nuke so... its not like I'm starved for spammers to chew on ._.
yst 13:50
I don't think so at least
yst 13:49
uhhh, no
yst 13:48
I'd edit it out and copycorrect it, and let the broader community decide on its worth
yst 13:48
hard to tell on the first one. Link's broken
yst 12:33
(cronched)
yst 12:33
I wonder if that's a wierd version of a crostini
yst 11:41
chewed
yst 11:20
taken care of till here
yst 10:53
All chewed up to here
yst 10:53
@Velvet Yes
yst 09:47
@Velvet chewed on
yst 09:46
(spamram = official/internal SE spam filtering systems, which are mysterious even to us)
yst 09:46
@A-Tech Practically that would mean a background post monitoring all new edits, and I'm not sure if spamram actually does content filtering
yst 09:42
Not sure there's a good/low lift way to
yst 09:40
I think smokey gets em
yst 09:11
"they tried so hard, and spammed so hard, and in the end AIMA didn't even MATter"
yst 08:45
He was, and he had a good run - extreme old age got him. I do miss him, and look forward to his eventual successor.
yst 08:37
@WeijunZhou Oh, that's my late dog. There was an old running joke that I was the dog, that's where jokes like "chewed on it" started.
yst 08:35
All good to here
yst 07:20
(though I wonder, since this started as a private/keep tracking of stuff room, why I didn't go for a dog joke)
yst 07:16
chewed
yst 07:10
(I'm convinced loan shark is a local term, but not sure where)
yst 07:07
the tags are references to the LOTR movie (where an ork goes "meat is on the menu boys!") and Jaws
yst 07:07
I don't think the humour is entirely obvious even for native speakers - its mostly me :D
yst 07:06
Spam comes in cans - putting something in a (trash) can is also a thing... we do things manually (as opposed to smokey or other tools) so we can (dispose) of spam in a artisian (manual) method - hence the "Artisan Spammer Cannery"
yst 07:05
a loan shark is someone who gives illegal loans and is generally nasty, and in many places in the world, well, sharks are hunted - we hunt loan (shark) spammers
yst 07:04
Ah, so, this room initially started as a way to deal with loan spammers
yst 07:01
both chewed on
