@Krazer Yeah I found that right after I asked you. I want to read it, but my students have an exam tomorrow and I keep getting emails every 10 minutes so it'll have to wait till tomorrow.
I was thinking maybe it would get typecast to a string, but just a string representing a number isn't a valid command in most languages I know (at least, not one that does anything useful). That's why I was doubting whether I was properly interpreting what "eval" does. If he's just wrong, then that makes a lot more sense.
Yeah, he's just blatantly wrong. I just love the double whammy of being wrong and going about it in a terrible way. Usually unsatisfactory answers only satisfy one of those things.
@Eric If you want to see answers that are incorrect in many ways, I recommend grading for any introductory physics class. Some of the things they right read more like Zalgo text than anything approaching physics.
In any case, my biggest mistake in college was taking introduction to programming (the only intro class I took), despite already knowing how to program. The only thing I learned the whole semester was Java syntax, which I promptly forgot at the end of the semester.
@Krazer I don't think so. Maybe they are rare in CS, but in every math or physics class I've taken the professor appreciated pointing out mistakes.
The semester after I took the intro programming class, I was able to get into a senior-level theoretical computer science class, which was better, but still too basic. That's when I got bored with CS and decided not to take any more classes in it.
@LoganM Yeah, that was probably an oversight. Especially since most gold badges are the 3rd level of an accomplishment that is preceded by bronze and silver.
@LoganM The joke is written at the top, actually. It's "How almost every Stack Overflow question looks to me." And it's remarkably accurate in the more common questions.
Is there any other manga artist/s (famous or not-so-famous) who caters anime or manga like CLAMP's style?
I'm talking about the cross-over style or the re-using of anime characters from one of their manga creations to another and the diverging of their stories. CLAMP is known for that style and ...
@Eric I am the being you people call "The World", and "The Universe", and "God", and "Truth", and "All", and "One", and "Jon", and "Skeet", and I am also, "Yourself"
@Krazer Nope. Populist and Reversal both require it to count as a Nice Answer. I suppose you could get both of them together, but that would still only allow a maximum ratio of 2 gold:1 bronze. It is possible if you manage to get populist or reversal, and before the Nice Answer script runs you garner a lot of downvotes (or cancelled upvotes) but that's an extremely rare situation.
I checked pretty thoroughly. There aren't any gold badges one can get without earning at least one silver or bronze badge. If you get Populist and Reversal together it's possible to get a 2:1 ratio, but to go past that, you have to exploit edge cases (e.g. getting 11+ upvotes and all of them negated with timing such that you can get a Reversal or Populist w/o Nice Answer).
If the different scripts see deleted questions differently that might provide an alternate way to do it, though it's still an edge case.
Interestingly, it may be possible on Area51 with founder badges. I've seen plenty of Area51 users who had the same number of gold and silver badges.
Incidentally, I finally finished getting rid of the dupes from my Miki pictures folder about 10 minutes ago. Here's the stats for that (which are much more interesting). It's actually a bit smaller than I expected (some 7k of the pics were duplicates).
@JNat Nope. Can you include a picture and simultaneously link to a different page anyway, though? I'd think linking to anime.stackexchange.com/unanswered would be rather important.
@JNat Should the image compression post be featured? It seems more like faq material.
In any case, it's certainly good advice, and we want people to see it, so making it featured is probably fine, but I also think it would be helpful if faq had more questions and answers.
From what I heard, the 2 Gurren Lagann movies are shortened version of the TV series. Is there anything new added or modified in the movies, or is it just a summary of the TV series? If there is any addition or modification, would you please list them out?
I am aware that the content is compress...
