Did I tell you my new weekender project? Trying to take apart the kindle reader app apk and changing the platform dependent parts to work with desktop. I may finish it.
@GeorgeEdison don't all the media players support multimedia control over a generic dbus interface? one ring to rule them all type of thing
Neat. Linux needs a standard DBUS rest bridge. You can use just about any wrapper, but it needs to be like: dbusbridge_instance = DBUSREST() dbusbridge_instance.allow_add(provider.api) dbusbridge_instance.run()
was the post i thought you saw, but genericising media player interfaces is also a worthy effort
@mateo_salta my current retro flavor is masters of magic and the crusader no regret/no remorse pair
i saw somewhere that people wanted a civ mod for masters of magic, but it got tabled because microprose or the other co that was part of building it said no
of course not...don't be silly. that's like saying layer 2 devices can't route then countering with "but some switches let you static route vlans". so we should delete all references to layer 2 devices not doing routing? no. we should leave out static routing vlans in beginner classes because it's a SRT
@Seth the best way to answer that is with inotify. if docky is not an open file, then it's not executing. libnotify lets you schedule callbacks on close, so as long as it's actually running when you start your watchdog: schedule a launch on close. problem solved without sleep or spinning a process constantly like that awful while loop
I have a similar requirement to the OP of this thread.
I want the following configuration:
-Physical host (PhyHost) reachable from the network at IP 10.1.101.89
-LXC container (LxcHost) reachable from the network at IP 10.1.101.95
Each contactable from the other.
OS = Ubuntu Server 12....
I think we (at AU) see a very different side to Ubuntu from Rick. We see all the users with problems and Rick sees all the developers with problems. They're often not the same problems.
should have seen the hate i got on my "IAmAITGuy, and my nexus 7 could replace my laptop for 90% of my work"
"oh, dude, i should get a blog and write stuff like this, i'd be famous."
@Flabricorn: We have dates for our April event. April 26th (Friday) from 3-5, and April 27th (Saturday) from 9-4. Welcome to camp out at work if you want.
I'm praying you're available for at least friday. :P
I actually think they will. In some ways, I think they should.
It will give Ubuntu a competitive edge in the mobile space, and free OEMs of having to offer a system that will be stuck without official support for newer versions of Ubuntu.
My head is spinning - working with cryptographic libraries is bad enough. It's even worse when you're doing it from multiple threads and trying to synchronize the whole mess.
Looks like this user wagner-tiff may be spamming in answers. Can someone else check the links and see if they are not just windows demos or I am going a bit crazy.
Recently I found that window borders keep disappearing intermittently in Unity! Especially when either Google Chrome or Mozilla Thunderbird are running.
Is there a way out?
if you cannot connect to the internet via TTY1 - then - yes, it will be quicker - hopefully you dont have much data - just command line copy onto a USB drive.
The hover-over message of the upvote button on a question is:
This question shows research effort; it is useful and clear.
For me that is sort of the same as saying this question can be answered.
Based solely on this sentence, I am often surprised to see questions without upvotes but with...
@fossfreedom Will do. I still tend to lump the two together (for obvious reasons), which is useful on Google, but less so on a forum specifically about official derivatives. :-P
