Every day I wake up and the first thing I do is hate how USB standards are named
"3.2 Gen 1" makes me want to replace my kidneys with hand grenades
Just call them "3.0", "3.1", and "3.2"
At leaat it seems like USB 4.0 (or wait..."USB4") will fix things temporarily
USB-IF has a golden opportunity to make one connector that rules them all, and they're throwing it away by making a zillion stupid variations that are all confusingly named
Like, does your USB-C support thunderbolt? Which version? How about displayport? Charging? What about which USB 3.2 it's using, if it's not 4.0?
I'm actually not a huge fan of one port to rule them all honestly
E.g., DisplayPort for video, USB-C for data transfer and HIDs, some magsafe-like thing for power, etc.
@emanresuA Oh yeah definitely. My current laptop has the jankiest mechanism to make them fit. The bottom of the USB port is like, slanted inward, but spring loaded so you can push it down to fit a USB plug in
