Apparently Programmers has a new Top User?
Pierre303's account is gone

moderators, @ThomasOwens - does it make sense to migrate this question from MSO to our meta? "Programmers Stack Exchange question downvoting, what to do?"
@Rachel as far as I can tell Pierre's accounts are also dropped at SO, MSO, onStartups. quite a pity

@gnat Agreed, I've learned so much from his answers and as far as I know he was still answering questions as of a week or two ago

@gnat Sure - it's a Programmers issue. I'd suggest migrating it.
I flagged it. I'll ping the SO mods and see if we can get it faster.
And migration complete.

thanks @ThomasOwens!

in this question (revisions history), does dropping language specific tag invalidate my language specific answer?

5:00 PM
@gnat Since those terms are not the same in every language, I re-added the [java] tag and specified the question was for Java in the question title and body

I see - thanks @Rachel (I was thinking alike but decided to double-check since I am biased as an involved answerer)

is there a labor shortage or labor surplus in the programmer industry?
currently

7:42 PM
@nbv4 massive shortage of good programmers from what I've heard.
@rachel We may not have seen eye to eye on how the site should have been run but I will miss his insights.
/me raises a glass to the fallen

@WorldEngineer Me too, he posted some great answers

@Rachel I was wondering why my rep suddenly dropped about 70 points

psr
@nbv4 - If you ask people hiring programmers they will always say there is a shortage because they would always prefer to pay less. The best objective answer is probably to look at salaries.

-1 for a vitriolic, passive aggressive polemic, that isn't useful to anyone. — Roc Martí 2 hours ago
@Rachel: I'm confused. Why do people see you as "the enemy"? You've tried so hard for so long to make Programmers.SE a better place. Yet @Roc Martí felt the need to violate the spirit of "Summer of Love" and accuse you of making mischief. I just don't understand.

@Rachel: Did you see this? news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4498499
