Q: Good items for Minecraft currency?

OwenPTSo I’m trying to make a currency on this Minecraft server, and I don’t quite know what to use. In a discussion on what item to use, emerald came up. Emeralds are used by villagers, but are otherwise not a good idea. Farms can easily be used to produce them, and they are an unlimited resource. Por...

@Wipqozn need 64-bit
Also, today's puzzle escalated quickly

I'm completely stuck on part 1, for the example I'm getting higher answers than the one they give
I'm sure todays can be solved by regex /s
but I am considering some kind of calculus
@MattE.Эллен Solved? No. Using? Yes, for parsing.
@MBraedley the right regex will solve any problem! they have lookahead and lookbehind now
Fuck it, I'm going to brute force part 2. It's only ~44000 possibilities
I found my typo and it works now

yay!
I won't start on this until after work
Yeah brute forcing didn't take long to run at all
12:45
Yeah, the problem can be sliced by first checking if the X velocity is even possible before checking a combination.
Probably didn't have to create a (very small) class, could have just used lambdas instead.

Ugh I am so far behind now
there is no shame in bruteforcing in a speed programming contest

@badp AoC doesn't have partial credit / small data sets though
My co-op student is just finishing up her last day before heading back to the classroom in the new year. I'm going to miss having a co-op on my team, but it's only for 4 months.

@PrivatePansy no problem this year has been too large to bruteforce I think? except the polymers, or the dijkstra problems... but those had pretty obvious improvements on the bruteforce that were simple to implement
@SaintWacko I don't know why, but I was thinking about you this week. Hope all is well with the various members of the wacko family
