or School Live! is a cute slice-of-life school based anime, right? Probably shoujo. It has schoolgirls on the cover, can't be serious.

Nanachi is so fluffy and cute that this "Made in Abyss" manga must obviously be anime version of... The Goonies, right?
@Memor-X I'll be surprised if average reviewer guy notices.
The point is that I believe that "darkest Tales" is a tittle based on "edgy artstyle" alone.
Because, let's be honest - it is apparent that the art style is meant to be more serious.

just from what i have seen it's not different from Xillia
only the environments are vastly improved
granted a level of polish you'd come to expect. like between Final Fantasy X, XII and XIII you'd think they look the same but X and XIII you can notice the polish XIII has over X

As for Tales, it fells like comparing Sword Art style (older games like Symphonia) to Code Vein (Arise).
The artistic direction is obviously different. But there is also something past that.
Maybe the shader? I don't know.
