Excuse me @SimplyBeautifulArt I have a question for you, when you have a moment.
My question is not about computer science per se, but here it is.

tfw literally pops in when someone pinged me

Why did you say that there are no exponential functions involved in the definition of a cardioid?

@cpiegore Didn't I already say? Besides, this chat isn't for such discussions, this place is for mathematics related to computing.

@SimplyBeautifulArt Yes you said that there are no exponential functions involved, but you did not justify that statement in any way. I would like to know why you said it, as it is not true.

@cpiegore If you have a different question, such as whether or not the definition of the cardioid includes exponential functions, then you should simply post that as another question.

8:46 PM
@SimplyBeautifulArt My question is why YOU, @SimplyBeautifulArt, made a certain statement. That is a question that ONLY YOU can answer.
@SimplyBeautifulArt Now I will ask again: why did you say that there are no exponential functions involved in the definition of a cardioid?
@SimplyBeautifulArt Well, whatever your reason, the fact is that your statement "there are no exponential functions involved in the definition of a cardioid" is simply not true. There are exponential functions involved, via the identity $e^{ix} + e^{-ix} = 2\cos{x}$

@cpiegore If you're not concerned with the definition of the cardioid and do not have an actual math question, then there's really nothing more to say concerning the matter on this site, other than that you're barking up the wrong tree.

@SimplyBeautifulArt I am trying to understand your thinking.
@SimplyBeautifulArt I would like to know why you said something false.

@cpiegore You're free to believe that makes it a cardioid, but that doesn't mean it is. Again, feel free to ask that as a question and see what others say, rather than just using your own conclusion.

@SimplyBeautifulArt You are not listening to me.
@SimplyBeautifulArt You still have not answered my original question, which is why you said that there are no exponential functions involved in the definition of a cardioid.
@SimplyBeautifulArt I am interested in learning about other viewpoints, such as your own.
@SimplyBeautifulArt However, you seem to be either unwilling or unable to elaborate or your point of view. This makes it very difficult to understand your perspective.

9:13 PM
@cpiegore I have been listening, but if you're not interested in any actual math questions then I cannot answer you. If you actually wanted to understand something concerning this, you should post a question like I suggested. If you do so, you would likely learn much more than trying to continue this conversation, and you would probably find the answer to your question either way.

@SimplyBeautifulArt You're missing the point. You said something that did not make sense to me, specifically your statement that "that there are no exponential functions involved in the definition of a cardioid." Because I did not understand your earlier remark I am now asking you for clarification, to give me more details.

9:30 PM
@SimplyBeautifulArt Do you understand the concept of a request for clarification?
