I think we should sue. #TakeCiscosCookies

I support this

So do I

A full commitment to taking their cookies is what I'm thinking of

3:18 AM
We wouldn’t get them from any other company

3:56 AM
Lyxal edited issue #160 (Much feature requests, Vyxal/Vyxal)

hey should we have a place where we tell users with <20 rep (users with just numbers) how to access this room?
@emanresuA what's your opinion on #TakeCiscosCookies

7:28 AM
I think we're ready to start on the command dictionary
So here's my idea of what should happen.

Merge the current fb-transpiler into fresh-beginnings
Very important not to delete the branch tho
Because then the command dictionary changes get pushed to fb-transpiler

Lyxal opened PR #217 (Vyxal/Vyxal) (Vyxal:fresh-beginnings → Vyxal:fb-transpiler): Fresh beginnings
Lyxal merged PR #217 (Vyxal/Vyxal) (Vyxal:fresh-beginnings → Vyxal:fb-transpiler): Fresh beginnings

Before you complain that I didn't get the two required reviews, this was a merge that updated documents in the transpiler branch that were changed in fb

Everything got reviewed already so schould be fine

7:37 AM
Lyxal opened PR #218 (Vyxal/Vyxal) (Vyxal:fb-transpiler → Vyxal:fresh-beginnings): Update fresh-beginnings with our current transpiler stuff before starting the command dictionary

Have fun :p
@emanresuA there's a few things we skipped over when merging user's branch into the transpiler branch on the priviso that we'd catch those things when going transpiler into fb

If you're going to get stuff from #160, get everything from #160

No, we're not up to that yet
This is getting the structures into fb
Structures first, then elements
With the idea that we can gradually merge elements into fb from transpiler

Oh you mean put them into the element list?

7:44 AM
Yes
Docs matter

Sure
I'll do that tonight

It is tonight

No it's evening
It's only 5.45pm for me
Night = after 9pm

I can still see parts of the sun

7:48 AM
Ok fine
it is night for me tho
7:45pm

Besides, evening can last for a while depending on what it means in your area
3 mins ago, by exedraj
Night = after 9pm
I just defined what I mean by nog8
*night
Also, I'm currently on mobile
Hence why I can't rn

PyGamer0 approved on PR #218 (Vyxal/Vyxal): "looks good. have a cookie for you hard work: 🍪 :P"

But what does nog8 mean?
@exedraj Have you implemented custom mapping for lazylists, or does Python's default map do that for you?

@emanresuA just wrap a map in lazy list ez

Edited

7:54 AM
@emanresuA it's a typo
21 secs ago, by exedraj
@emanresuA just wrap a map in lazy list ez

Oh ok

I mean, I might have to define a custom map function anyway because defined functions don't exactly play nice with map
But generally speaking, there wouldn't be any special map just for lazy lists
If there's a map function, it's for every data type

Also have you figured out how to vectorise generators?
Btw please implement generator-friendly enumerate / prefixes / zip.

@emanresuA pretty much

infinite generator friendly functions will need some sorta function compoaition

8:09 AM
why not numpy to handle Vectorisation?

Composition?

razetime requested changes on PR #218 (Vyxal/Vyxal): "I've given some feedback after reading through everything."

@Razetime ^
@PyGamer0 because it doesn't handle vectorisation the way we want it to

@exedraj example of your way plz

@exedraj so what are the parts of vyxal generators

8:12 AM
@PyGamer0 triadic vectorisation
Explicit vectorisation with two lists
Vectorisation on infinite lists

there has to be
a) something that gets the next element
b) something that stops the generator(if applicable)
and maybe a generator mode
husk has this really easy lol

@Razetime I just use yield

imagine not having infinite lists built in to your language

Does yield not count?

it's close
not to the level haskell has it
full with lazy eval and having most builtins work on them

8:25 AM
pxeger requested changes on PR #218 (Vyxal/Vyxal): "Looking pretty good, just some minor things"

@exedraj yeah that's what I thought
I just wasn't sure if we'd un-decided or something

After user mentioned they would rather have explicit over the implicit they suggested, I pretty much instantly made up my mind

ok

I'll work on resolving the points you raised
Thank you

8:32 AM
:)

!!/bye

@exedraj o/

(because I gtg for now)

Btw after this I'ma fix elements.txt - We have two copies of phi, constants for √2√3√5 for some reason, ... It's painful.

@pxeger I did!

I coulda sworn I got rid of that

it was there twice
you probably only got rid of one

12:43 PM
ah
ighto
that cursed sh*t is gone
whew 30 resolved issues

that's a lot of "Mom's spaghetti remix"

also why are some of your commits Verified™ and others not?

@pxeger changes to markdown files I make online mostly

ah, ok

12:44 PM
changes to python I make on my computer and push using github desktop

eww gui is for losers, cli supremacy

@VyxalBot 1 down, 3 to go
@pxeger since when is vyxal-cookie an org owner?

no idea

lol

22 hours ago, by Aaron Miller
lol vyxal-cookie is an org owner

12:48 PM
@AaronMiller why tho

idk I didn't do it

I'm pretty sure I gave it member perms

I noticed it when I saw that I was an owner and went to go abuse check out my newfound power

eh I must have clicked owner
it was late at night and I was half delirious, so I suppose i'd make that mistake
@AaronMiller imagine thinking there's power to abuse

I'm pretty sure it's @user's sock, based on this:

12:50 PM
wait it isn't yours?

@exedraj I figured you did it as a joke

no it literally isn't lol

@AaronMiller no lol

hmm actually they were all within 2 minutes of each other

@AaronMiller Organisation ownership is something I take a bit more seriously than Room Ownership

12:51 PM
I partially retract my accusation I guess

@AaronMiller as hyper said, what happens here can be easily contained. Org owners can screw up the whole project

ploy: create some kind of document that everyone including cookie has to see, but attach it to an IP-grabbing link shortener, and then we'll know who it really is!

lol

Lyxal: Org Ownership is serious
Also Lyxal: Makes the bot the only other owner

the only people who could have made cookie owner are the other owners
so lyxal, HN, and Aaron
(and Vyxal-bot, but that's also lyxal)

12:54 PM
this was probably before I added two more OOs
wow imagine not having your membership of Vyxal org public
also, why am I the only one here with 2FA on gh?

I am a software professional; I don't want to be associated with you fools

@exedraj because it doesn't support my Yubikey, and I don't like app-based TOTP
oh, I can use a Yubikey, but I have to set up TOTP as well
> After you configure 2FA using a mobile app or via text message, you can add a security key, like a fingerprint reader or Windows Hello. The technology that enables authentication with a security key is called WebAuthn. WebAuthn is the successor to U2F and works in all modern browsers. For more information, see "WebAuthn" and "Can I Use."

@VyxalBot 2/4
this is good progress
oh wait we need AUsername to okay it before merging
looks like no merging tonight kekw

1:08 PM
@exedraj I don't know what ur talking about

@pxeger I assure you it's not

hmm

@AaronMiller did you literally just enable it to prove me wrong?

@exedraj I did too lol

@PyGamer0 Here you go: 🍪

3:10 PM
@PyGamer0 you literally just make another account
"sock" accounts aren't a special type of account it just refers to an account owned by someone who already has an account

3:42 PM
@hyper-neutrino i know that
@hyper-neutrino yes but the question is which email address

@PyGamer0 You just make a sock email address.
e.g. the vyxal-cookie github account might use an email like vyxalcookie@gmail.com or something like that.

@AaronMiller too much work

4:01 PM
to make a sock you must make a sock

so then it can be worn
