I have an amazing rocket almost working, but every time I remove a particular stage, the main engine on the bottom gets hit and falls off... which is impossible, because it's not exposed on the sides...

And to change it would require... well, dismantling a large chunk of the rocket.

Unless I wanted to have my icon groupings messed up for everything.

That specific situation, tangential to the general question, caused someone to mistakenly ask the same question again. Removing that part, unessential to the question, resolves the problem.

@Alok If you're answering questions like "Where is the last elite in this game instance I'm playing? He ran off" that'd be comparable to a question about what room you're missing in SotN. It's localized to one person's game, and isn't applicable to people in the general problem except to turn it into the more general "How do I make sure my map is complete?" or "How can I track down an elite that's gone rogue?"

Hmm I have done so in several cases - one liners that either completely miss the question; or actually give wrong info. I know in a few instances, I went back and there was notation that others had also suggested deletion.

In fact, one answer I marked as 'looks good' as it was correct, less comprehensive than a competing answer but posted before it ... and that was recommended deletion by another user too (likely to reduce duplication)

Sure, but that's a personal choice. It's not against any rule or policy to post a wrong answer or a duplicate answer, so institutionalizing a canned comment doesn't make sense
