12 candidates in 2015, 6 in 2018, 3 in 2021?

@NikeDattani lol, would be a funny pattern

10 hours later…
11:33 AM
hmm ... I don't see any actual nominations yet

@Vogel612 Should be completing the questionnaire today :) Taken a little longer to write than I originally expected D:

I know the feeling :)

12:18 PM
@Vogel612 I don't like my boss will like it if I fill it out during his time.
Should be up soon(TM).

Hi @Vogel612

I wonder how Jamal is doing these days.

@NikeDattani Is it true? About 2015 and 2018?
@Catija Do you get a diamond whenever you join a site?
@Peilonrayz Running for mod?
@Mast oh, never mind.

@riskymysteries When do I join sites? I'm already on them all ;)

@riskymysteries np :)

1:17 PM
@Peilonrayz You're going to be a great candidate!

@riskymysteries Thank you for you kind words ^^

@riskymysteries You can see for yourself. 2015 election and 2018 election.
You can see who ran, what the results were, etc.

@Mast Thank you!
@Peilonrayz Just stating a fact though.

1:34 PM
@Mast Haven't seen him around much, and I haven't been Jamalized in quite some time.

2:09 PM
@pacmaninbw what does it mean to be jamalized?

@NikeDattani Jamal likes to edit posts.
I've suggested a couple of nominations
For those considering running in the election, I suggest that you have some history in the review queues. It is part of the basis for understanding what a moderator has to do.

@pacmaninbw what does fight zombie mean?

@NikeDattani Zombies are questions that have never been answered. There are badges associated with Zombies such as Necromancer
Revival is another.
Up until last year Code Review had a 90+% answer rating (questions answered) we are currently at about 89.5%.

3:05 PM
They merged the nomination and questionnaire this year, that's new.
At least, compared to '18.

3:31 PM
yea, this election is one of the first elections to have that
IINM it's the first election (together with the election on gamedev.se)

4:10 PM
Bloody character limit...
I'm at 1191 out of 1200 yet it's refusing to take my nomination.
There, done.
Comments and questions are welcome, I'll do my best to answer them all.

4:41 PM
@Catija Is there any way to use the old editor? When I paste in Markdown mode and switch to the preview mode all my \n turn into \n\n and my headers are escaped

@Peilonrayz Don't switch to the preview? I don't.
But, no. This is the only option.

It took some getting used to, but I'd recommend typing it over (copying parts instead of the whole thing).
It doesn't respond like the editor we're used to.

@Catija Is there a way I can check the output without using preview mode? I'd like to check my post isn't malformed before posting

Q: Moderator Elections: bug reporting for new questionnaire UI

Anita TaylorAs we announced today, there is a new user interface for candidate questionnaires in moderator elections. Chemistry will be the first Stack Exchange community to use the new UI when the nomination phase of your election begins later today. If you encounter any bugs with the new questionnaire UI, ...

@Peilonrayz Draft it in a question or answer post on site and then use the regular preview - then move the text to MD mode on the nomination?

Sure thing, I'll post an answer to the meta in a bit. Ok, thank you
@Mast Sounds like a good idea. I just have ctrl-a ctrl-c -> ctrl-a ctrl-v wired into my muscle memory D:

4:50 PM
Sorry - it's growing pains for the whole system and we're still working it out. They opted to go with the new editor because it'll get converted eventually but it's still not quite ready for production so it comes with some headaches.

No problem. I remember trying the editor out on MetaMeta and didn't notice the problems I'm currently experiencing. I'm sure you'll iron out some more quirks now :) Thank you for your help

We'll just be guinea pigs. No problem.

@pacmaninbw Have you seen "zombie" used that way on any other sites too? Or just on CodeReview?

5:06 PM
@NikeDattani it's a code-review thing

Thanks

They're named after zombie processes, which are covered on quite a few of the other SE sites. But we're the only community referring to inactive, unanswered questions like that.

2 hours later…
7:33 PM
I see

7:53 PM
@Mast Would you be ever so kind and confirm for me that you can edit both your candidate statement and your questionnaire answers? We had a bug until today that prevented such actions.
