I do try to know less about critters when a player ^^; It kind of ruins the flavour for the character's reactions.

Which is why I kind of prefer DMing for players who know less, because it contains more of the excitement of finding things out as the character learns it.

Then you don't have to pretend you don't know.

But then I like movies and stories and things where you don't know everything that is going on and you only find out as the characters uncover it... (shrug)

Which is why I would suggest not learning everything before your character does... but then not everyone has my same pleasure in uncovering secrets with the character (chuckle)

Last time I was this active in Puzzling (late 2016-eary 2017), it was my High school exams and I had to get A across subjects hehe.

@Sciborg I threw out my Zoroark once but had it disguised as a Croagunk once. The opponent initially had a fairy-type, so obviously, they're super scared that Croagunk is gonna one-shot the fairy. So they switched to a psychic type, and I was LAUGHING my butt off.

Those are the BEST kinds of Zoroark trolls

Even funnier, my Zoroark knew I think like a poison-type move, so I could pretend that it was actually Croagunk

But it gets better

Illusion only wears off when you take damage from an attack

So this guy

Does like three psychic type attack and thinks I'm cheating

And in the meantime I'm just laughing like crazy

i miss when my friends and i would do battles in the cafeteria sometimes in high school, i think i was a senior in high school right when Sun and Moon came out so we played a lot of Black/White Version 2 and X/Y. we had some really funny battles where i would troll with a super low-level Pokemon that was holding a Red Card or other switchy item and then switch into something way stronger as a surprise

but like when it uses stuff like Endure and is poisoned, that's a plausible way it could die if you cut it down and then the poison hits at end of turn
