You have two options. The first is to try and appeal the professor's decision. I don't know if there is an appeals process at IITs or how it works. I suspect this is unlikely to succeed as I'd guess the IIt would only overrule the professor in exceptional cases.
That isn't long enough to start from scratch, which is why I am wondering if the work you have done could be adapted to a different system e.g. hydrogen atoms. Or maybe the rotational energy levels of molecules - that might be simpler.
