hi
so I have windows and ubuntu both installed on same disk different partition
and I am thinking of creating another partition that can be easily accessed from both
what should that partition be
I mean the filesystem

@jeea NTFS. Windows doesn't know how to handle ext4 filesystems while Ubuntu knows NTFS.

oh that is good thanks! one thing is that I made one partition / and other /usr/local as the mounting point will it cause problem if I format the usr/local partition
Cant I create a partition with no mounting point just a simple partition like in windows where OS partition is separate from other partition

@jeea Yes it could.
@jeea Other partitions are mounted when needed. The partitions whose entry is in fstab are automounted.
Also, since this room is for community moderation / janitoring / reviewing / site cleanup, consider discussing general things about Ubuntu in the general room or Ask Ubuntu. :)

ok thanku
