@Derpy show ending? You mean season finale, I hope? :/

@ShadowTheBurningWizard last season was the last one for the MLP-Friendship is Magic show.
currently there is a planned G4 movie that should still be based on Friendship is Magic, a planned G5 that probably will be unrelated with maybe some reference to Friendship is Magic (some also say it could be a reboot) and a spin-off show called "Pony Life" that is much more commedy-oriented
that said, I was basically just saying that the Friendship is Magic season 9 finale, which is the last episode for that serie basically implies a scenario that the fans already thought of....
basically one of the characters becomes a sort of "divinity" - which in turns makes her basically immortal (or at least her life span is elf-like - thousands of years) and the others.... don't.
Since the show is basically built around the friendship between the main 6 characters, you can see where this goes.
basically, the "princess of friendship" has been struck with the "curse of immortality", the trope of "outliving everyone you know"
and that was an headcanon many had far before the show ended.
See this video for another example.
(please don't mind the 3d models, I am not very fond of them but this artist used to use them.... later I think he moved to cg/flash based animations)
This is another common headcanon that claims that the character would probably prefer to renounce to her immortality to stay with the other characters and live a regular life.
The show actual ending.... doesn't give any answer.
Yet you can see that it takes place MANY years after the show timeframe, and you clearly see that Twily hasn't "aged" while the other characters did.
Ergo the conclusion that canonically, she is immortal while everyone else (save for a few exceptions) isn't
It is... a weird ending if you think about it. Also.... probably not many young kid would notice the implication (most will just think "yay, Princess Twily turned Celestia") but if they do.....
"Wait, so she lives while everyone else is dead???"
(again, a theme the fans considered multiple times in multiple fan material, I am just quite surprised the show writers actually used the idea)
(the fan made episode "Snowdrop" uses that idea too in the ending, and in that case it is probably even more sad - but again as I said it was FANMADE)
(didn't expect to see the concept in an actual episode)
