I've started reading The Vegetarian, @Tsundoku. I'm not too far in, but I wasn't expecting it to get dark right off the bat
I'll try to finish it as soon as I can
The semester is over, at least.

TsundokuIn Maupassant's short story "Le Signe" / "The Signal", part of the collection Le Horla (1887), the baroness de Grangerie tells her friend the marchioness de Rennedon how a woman of ill repute had taken up residence in a house across the street and how she had started studying the subtle body lang...

Q: A Father to his Son - Carl August Sandburg

Baskaran SoundararajanIn this poem, the poet says ',Time as a stuff can be wasted'. In most of the summaries of this poem, it is mentioned that the poet says that time can be wasted as if the poet advocated the point that wasting of time is not wrong. Is it true? I wonder how anyone would advocate it. I think the po...

Q: are there any fictional books for kids involving biology or animals?

jerrroI am looking for books for kids (say 8-13) that are fiction, about animals or biology or something that involves a bit of life science. Anyone familiar with such a series? Book should probably be 100-120 pages or so. thanks.

@Bookworm I removed the tags and .

Welp, why do people keep creating . When they type that into the tag box, they should see the tag pop up.
(I remember making that decision when I created it as the site's very first author tag [note the post ID]. I thought it makes more sense to be consistent and use the full name for all authors, since we'd definitely want to do that for authors with common surnames later.)

The full name is better. After all, there's also Nicholas Shakespeare.

Could create a tag synonym?

1:55 PM
The usual advice is "don't bother creating synonyms for tag names which are a substring of the main tag", because then the main tag will show up when typing in the tag box anyway. But maybe this is an occasion to ignore the usual advice.

I have no objection to that.
Funny: "In January 2012, according to journalists, Nicholas Shakespeare's writings were mistakenly confused for William Shakespeare's by French presidential candidate François Hollande when he said: "Let me quote Shakespeare, 'they failed because they did not start with a dream'""
The words are taken from Nicholas Shakespeare's novel The Vision of Elena Silves, in which they are spoken by a Peruvian Maoist revolutionary.

Q: What (what) should I do with this life

user10254If (if) I can not and could not tell you anything else. how can this question be answered.

1 hour later…
10:03 PM
@Bookworm That's it, I've gone ahead and made a synonym.

10:27 PM
And that was the question that made it necessary? o_O
Untaggging and deleting would probably have been more fruitful.

The tag is getting deleted by the system anyway within a day of being removed from every question it's on. But that day window still allowing for someone to stick the tag on a random off-topic question ... just brought home that that tag is being perennially recreated, rather than just a one-off incident of an unnecessary tag being created and then pruned.
