@Mithrandir24601 I liked the first violin piece and liked the violinist. Then YouTube played two more lovely pieces and I watched her a bit more closely. Then YouTube played this and now I'm hooked:
@Cerberus I'd see the way a student was touching the paper with his pen, or her hair with her fingers. I'd focus on it kind of like they were touching me instead of the paper or hair or whatever. But nothing sexy about it. It was just about the tingles.
@Jolenealaska I don't know why I didn't link this one in the first place :P We studied this in school. A couple of years later, I was in an orchestra that played this (same orchestra that did the Sibelius actually :D but a different soloist)
Oh yay! I'm on a free trial of YouTube premium which I will never pay for. And my ISP gave everyone a plan upgrade for the time being. So I can download ALL the videos!
@rumtscho - I flagged cooking.stackexchange.com/questions/107799/… with a comment, which I guess I really should have brought up on meta instead. I've rectified that & retracted the flag [idk if anyone saw it before that] So I instead raised it on Meta for opinions...
My Stack Exchange background is really on the 'computing' sites, Ask Different & Super User.
I'm aware that different stacks have different requirements for off-topic, but searching Meta here for 'customer support' brings no results, so I'm wondering if it's even been touched upon as a subject.
...
I want to ask a question about kitchen equipment, which is listed as on-topic in the main FAQ. However, I noticed a few equipment questions being closed as off-topic.
How do I know if I my (equipment-related) question is on topic or not?
it looks kinda more like Aaronut planned to exclude the "stuck beater" kind of quesiton, but such questions were not regularly closed when he was a mod
as a background explanation, Aaronut was the most active of the first "batch" of moderators on the site, and has defined a lot of or scope, plus some scope for other sites, e.g. the ban on meta-tags. When I became a mod, I was basically looking up to what he'd do :)
@Stephie Yes - I raised the flag then thought better of it. Tough to have a discussion on a form where the only real responses are 'helpful' or 'declined' ;) So I moved it as a more prepared thought-process into Meta. I have to admit I hadn't thought to search the 'equipment' tag for this, I just went with 'customer support'. Glad for any discussion/idea/recommendations it raises, though.
@rumtscho Makes perfect sense. I'm coming very late to Seasoned advice, compared to the time I've spent on Ask Different, so I guessed there would be different approaches & just wanted to clarify.
I'll give everybody time to have a think - i doubt it's going to be completely sorted out in five minutes flat - but I'm keen to hear everyone's thoughts on it.
