Under the Silver Lake is a movie about paranoia, conspiracies, schizophrenia, and hallucinations in a backdrop of hedonistic LA parties. The main character solves (or has delusions of solving) ciphers in his quest to find a missing lover. Or perhaps the missing person is merely a female neighbor ...
Currently rewatching and in Iron Man 3, Stark first meets this woman (Brandt) who was an Extremis soldier in a bar. He was able to kill her with an explosion.
However, in an earlier scene, another Extremis soldier (Savin) who was also caught up in another explosion, survived. Furthermore, he was...
In the film Ernest Goes to Camp when the Cheif was speaking seems to have been using real Plains Indian Sign Language based on the Wikipedia article for the movie. But that's just the sign language, so I was wondering does he speak an actual language or is it all just made up?
what do the soul stone do? why is it so important? are the mind and soul stone the same thing?
in avengers infinity war thanos has to sacrifice his own daughter to get the soul stone when the soul stone seems useless.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I am not into weird comedy like Rick and Morty ( it's more of physical abuse. bullying and downright torturing ) , adventure time ( physical humour I can't connect with)
I am more old school guy like Alaadin, Telespin etc
He could killed Jhon Snow if he wanted to... I mean he just was told that king must decide and that the king would be chosen by lords and ladies and he agreed... Why on Earth would he do that?... I don't think that he was afraid of battle or war...
And that's the problem. It was 2 out of 20 interconnected movies, so you can't dedicate much time in either of those to character development and all that
Either a large number should have included some bits here and there, to achieve the normalizing result you wanted, or neither of the movies
But you have time to give to the characters if it's a TV show.
@MovieReel Jhon Snow? Don't think he was Indian, or Asian
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Ant-man's best friend can be gay and he is being ally. Some gay alien in GotG being a good guy? Velkyrie being valkerie without editing? no need for mentioning in 20 film
So watching Castaway for umth time and kids were asking questions... then things started not making sense. So Chuck is flying West towards Malaysia, hits a storm, then crashes.
What ensues is Chuck finding a bunch of packages that seem to be headed for the US, the main angel wing package.....
In the final episode of Game of Thrones, Drogon is taking Daenerys
And flying away. Is it mentioned anywhere in the show or in the books where they're headed and what Drogon plans to do with her?
In Game of Thrones S8E6, the following scene takes place
BRAN: And Drogon? Any word?
SAM: He was last spotted flying east, toward--
BRONN: The farther away, the better.
BRAN: Perhaps I can find him. Do carry on with the rest.
TYRION: As you wish, Your Grace.
Why is Bran ...
If you haven't watched the last season yet, then you know that Drogon is on the loose at some point. When watching the season you'll be waiting for this to happen.
I won't say when, how and where this happens, but the title gives it away, and everyone that haven't seen it yet will know it happens eventually. That spoils quite a bit...
So you want to change the title to something like "why does Bran want to do this?" I detest those nondescriptive titles, so let's just agree to disagree
@AnkitSharma And it wouldn't be obvious Bran is king.
@AnkitSharma Fan theory suggests Drogon flew past Himalayas, caught a cold, and started setting everything on fire on its way to China, and now, 2000 years later, we get festivals with giant Drogon costumes.
So was Jon Snow brought back to life to kill Daeerys? To me it makes sense, I'm not sure if I missed something along the way. It also backs the point Daeerys would do no good for the world as the queen of Westeros.
I was thinking about what Even said to Father Kinley in Season 4, Episode 9, when he told him to get a demon from hell and try to convince Lucifer to come back. What does Eve mean saying that, and also why is she so sure he will go to hell. Although Father Kinley set up the murders before, all wa...
He is a man of honor. When he killed the dragon queen, he didn't even escape but told the truth. But then why did he kill her with a back stab? Not literally, but he kissed her and she didn't know that he has a weapon.
I understand that maybe, he couldn't kill her other way, but that's not very ...
Also, what an oatmealy nothing Jon Snow turned out to be. He was singularly devoid of passion. Even killing <spoiler>, he might as well have been polishing leather for all the involvement he showed.
He agreed to kill Winston to reverse his ex-communicado status, and to reaffirm this, cut off his finger for the Elder, yet when presented with the choice, he chooses not to kill Winston (so he cut off his finger for nothing?).
The adjucator acts on behalf of the High Table, and deconsecrates th...
So in the council in Game of Thrones S08E06 where the new King is elected in we see 15 (if I counted correctly) remaining Lords and Ladies representing various areas/houses. I can easily see:
Sansa, Bran and Arya for Stark/Winterfell/The North
Gendry for house Baratheon and presumably the Storm...
This is an excellent answer cutting down on what Bran really is and a nice connection to our current society, while still ultimately answering the question asked.
I'm sure the fans and book people will hate it, because GRRM ain't not writin' about no computers, yo! But I hope the HNQ gives it some votes. And if not, I can still slap a bounty on it.
status-completed
Questions must now be at least eight hours old before they can be added to the HNQ list. ~Catija
feature-request Set a minimum age for posts before they're eligible for the HNQ list.
(this idea was already discussed elsewhere - posting it here because it looks like a very ...
@AnkitSharma You really think the R+J=F or whatever thing would be different in the books? We already know from GRRM himself that this is isn't the case.
@NogShine A lot of very close friends consider each other "siblings"...until they find out there's a bit more to it.
I remember reading this English short story during my school days; it was part of our English curriculum 18-19 years ago.
Plot:
It starts with a wife killing her husband with turkey or chicken or some other food item : not a planned murder but one in anger during a fight. Then the murder inves...
As we saw in Game of Thrones S08E05 the queen went on a rampage killing everyone, but is it really possible for a dragon to break the walls like piles of wood?
I am quite amazed, if they can do it so easily then they could have been better used against the White Walkers in S08E03.
My question i...
I vaguely remember this movie but it was a horror movie set in 1980s-1990s. The movie begins with a kid travelling with his parents and his sister in a car. The car meets with an accident and the kid goes missing. Years later we see that an old granny has kidnapped this kid and kept him in a lock...
In Avengers: Infinity War, we see that after Thanos snaps his fingers, he appears in a scene where he is in an orange space (the soul stone?) with a child version of Gamora.
However, in Avengers: Endgame, we see that both Hulk and Iron Man snap, and nothing extra happens.
Is there some reason...
In the final few minutes of the John Wick: Chapter 2, we see Winston declaring the bounty on John’s life getting international and we see the messages hitting on the mobile phones of pretty much everyone in the park where the discussion happened. Seeing it made be believe, aren’t there any civili...
In Game of Thrones, several dialogues mention the lengthy winters and the fears they impose on people. We know that the weather system in Westeros is quite different from our world, and each season may last for ages. From the beginning of the first season, the Starks' motto was winter is coming, ...
In Game of Thrones, there is still one person left on Arya's list.
Is it possible that Ilyn Payne is still alive after
In other words, where is he and could Arya kill him?
The great snow wall was destroyed by the white walker dragon in season 7. Now in season 8 in last episode they are showing the wall again, how is that possible?
And white walkers are dead, why jon snow and his army is there ? from whom they are protecting?
How is it even remotely plausible that the Dothraki and the Unsullied, who have pledged unconditional loyalty to Dany, do absolutely nothing when Jon kills her?
They live for her.
It is absolutely not believable that they sit idly by, and are merely content with "imprisoning" Jon, or having hi...
So there is this software tool we use at work, called TeamCity. Whenever I hear it I suddenly imagine this big hair band rocker standing on a car, pyrotechnics shooting off, guitar strum sustaining and in total Van Halen style he screams out "Team Ciiitttaaaaayyyy!!!"
So I told coworkers about t...
When Stark was captured by Killian, Killian quoted the following as something that his grandfather used to say:
The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
But why did Killian mention this? Is it somehow significant to the events in the movie? Or was this just a quot...
