@Derpy One guess I have is that Princess Celestia thinks that Twilight shouldn't open that school, but she also doesn't want to just ban him, so he uses the more complicated tactic of getting Twilight to fight with that school board, since she knows that Twilight won't try to just ignore the school board's authority, even though she could, being, you know, a respected princess.

And it's because this school thing didn't end in this double episdode, and seems like it's the theme of the whole season 8, is why I'm not so keen on watching the rest, and especially the finale, though it will probably be worth even if there will be some school-related cringe. Obviously it's mostly about real world stuff though.

In particular, the school building is shown in the opening title song sequence starting from E3.

I hope that after this, when you get to E3, you'll comment on the new animation for the opening title too, because it has some strange things in it.
