If Eve is an American too, then she's is just dense in the head and is outright a racist. Not an offensive racist, but still racist. Her love is not foreign culture that she claimed, but the foreign look of Alice. Culturally, Alice an American! Born in L.A.! Alice is an American too. Even her parents are from L.A. — Nelson 35 secs ago

I agree with the first part - the choice is indeed hers and everyone's risk perception/tolerance is different. However, I disagree with the rest. Imagine walking at night in a dangerous neighbourhood with a wallet full of cash. Sure you can campaign for better public safety and the blame for any crime that might occur would not be on you, etc. That doesn't change the fact that it's a bad idea to do it. — Albert 1 min ago

While I completely agree with your advice. This is doesn't answer the OP's (admittedly off topic) question, of how to convince their partner. — sphennings 5 secs ago

I don't think "not ringing the doorbell" counts as a favor sister would be doing, I think "stop whatever you're doing and come and answer the door for me every time because I can't be bothered to take a key" is a favor that roommate is doing sister! — Meg 1 min ago

this may be more suited to The Workplace. The IPS section would be about how to talk to the person; The Workplace would help a lot with policies, management practices, consequences, etc. This really sounds like a performance issue, which is a Workplace and not so much of an Interpersonal Skills issue. — baldPrussian 2 mins ago
