9:11 AM
@Randal'Thor , thank you!
@manshu , thank you!
Another day/night, another adventure.
This time my father tracked me down. And sat down with my sidewalk friends.
I promised his wife, my mother, that i'd outlive her. Unfortunately she made that all too easy by developing undifferentiated ovarian cancer.
So i promised her husband, my father, the same. He's not making it as easy. He's making me think we'll both live to 100.

@humn I'm sorry.
@humn Thank you.

@Rand! Pure poetry.

When poetry doth flow,
It makes my heart swift go.
Where's the Poe tree? Dunno,
But a raven roosts there, no?
Damn, those rhymes were forced :-/

@Rand al'rhyme, I love your style, forced or not.

Next to you, I'm styleless.
Awaiting your words, captumn.

9:22 AM
One of these days you'll sit down with my sidewalk friends. They are articulate!
It's amazing. The weak don't survive.

translate: sidewalk
(from US) pavement

@Randal'Thor , yes.
@Randal'Thor , yes. As you obviously have as well.

You ever work as a translatr?
Seems you have the skills.

Something is out of sequence at the moment. Will be fixed.

Time traveller!

9:28 AM
On a good day.
Some of my pavement friends just want to diddle video games on their little phones.

Darn phones.

I say "I wish i hadn't made that possible. Let's have a conversation."
You understand.

And now i'm lost for words, one factorial?!?!?!?! You bad.
0!

I never use exclamation marks after numbers when writing ordinary English, because of the mathematical ambiguity.
Except after 1 and 2, because it doesn't affect anything there.

9:34 AM
I miss you, @Rand al'over, perhaps more than you missed me.

Perhaps, but that we can never tell.

Time will tell.
I'm on a Marley jag. Bear with me.
Don't even try to translate "jag."

Jaguar.
I hope you can dismount from that jag safely.

I'm surrounded by soft material at the moment.
Which ain't always the case. Especially lately.

The jaguar's claws will tear through soft material.

9:42 AM
You're showing your fangs. More power! Please be careful.

What's the difference between a jaguar and a semicolon?
One has claws at the end of its paws, and the other marks a pause at the end of a clause.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ay caramba. Ay yi yi!
You're more nerdly than i! Yi yi.
And i've passed on your wisdom.
No names.

Wisdom whizzed on.

On the pave.

Rand on random.

9:46 AM
Don't let me get you started. Careful!
But you did and will and i won't.
Yes i will. I can't help it either.
I do my duty by fixing the internet, almost dayly by now. But in my spare time i break all the rules.
Wish i had more spare time.
2
@Rand al'that, you give me language from which to learn. One of these days i'll speak English.
Another repeat:
Please don't be embarrassed, @R. Get used to left-handed compliments.
Much better than left-handed insults. Signed -- lefty

Thanks again!
Nice!

@Randal'Thor That's a nice one - she has a lot of good stuff.
e.g.:

@Mithrandir , this is why i go asleep early and wake up during what here is the middle of the night!

@Mithrandir Meh. She's got nothing on Mairead Nesbitt when it comes to prancy violin playing.
LS's audio seems to be pre-recorded and then put together with the video of her movements, but MN can actually play while prancing.

@Randal'Thor , please don't forget that, every 20 years or so, i make love with one of the foremost violinists. I have her cello.

10:10 AM
Lindsey does both - see e.g. the Got Talent performance or "Master of Tides".

@Mithrandir I know I've seen Master of Tides, but I don't remember which one it was. Linky?

And... yes, generally, when you're making a music video, you don't record the actual music at the time - you do that in the studio.

@Mithrandir , when you're right you're right.

@Mithrandir Which is why it's so impressive to be able to do live performances while playing and prancing at the same time.

@Randal'Thor , you are prancing?! Live it up!

10:15 AM
Not I.
Mairead Nesbitt.

Good timing!
And i'm 1/4 Irish. (O Donnell)
The sweetest lover, violinist, is Czech, but the most passionate ones are Irish.
(That was more detail than necessary.)

@Mithrandir Just when she's starting, the guy says "cue sound". Is that to turn on pre-recorded sound to the 15 speakers, or is her violin playing being sent live to those speakers?
To me that looks like a typical LS video: nice moves, but you can tell she's not actually playing live. Look at the way the video occasionally goes slow-mo but the sound doesn't.

@Randal'Thor Both, I think - there's the other sound, besides the violin, that's being played, but not the violin.
@Randal'Thor Yes, that's editing from afterwards.

@Mithrandir Maybe you're right. I guess you know more about this than I do.

10:28 AM
Like, recently, someone was playing the violin live in a square - but they also had background music, to make it sound fuller.

I still have more respect for pure talent than for a performance that requires a lot of technological assistance.

@Randal'Thor , raw talent. @Mithrandir has it, and asthma.

The asthma, yes, the talent I'm less sure of ;) I've actually been sick this week with breathing complications, so... yeah.

@Mithrandir , took me half a century to clear my passageways. I hope it takes you less.

At the moment, though, I'm focusing on the piano until the airways clear up.

10:33 AM
Keep those fingers going!
And the pedals.

@humn Or cooked.
Can a chef have raw talent?

@Randal'Thor , dog, i'm always in the kitchen.
Cooking up one thing or another. And they ain't mostly food.
@Randal'Thor , by the way, nice turn of a phrase!
Feed me!
Now i'm sounding needy. Well, i took my turn and should fall back asleep. It's middle of the night here (3:45 am).

10:49 AM
@humn I'll listen to that.

@Randal'Thor , thank you. Remember, i don't put up anything i haven't played. And that one i arranged. And you pay attention to what i say, and the attention is mutual.
