Can a user with not enough rep to comment still comment on their own question/answer?

@SaintWacko I believe so
I think I did it on my first couple answers when I didn't have enough rep to comment normally

Alright, thanks

No problem :)

so, i probably wont have any work to do for like a week

@Dragonrage is that a good thing?

9:47 PM
i mean, ill still be paid, but ill be bored all day at work

that's why they invented reddit

@Ave hue

@Ave that's such an aussie meme too

ive been asking my boss to go over some stuff i did for him and asking him for new tasks for like 5 days. he told me today he wouldnt have time to go over the stuff or give me tasks till like sometime next week

10:19 PM
@GodEmperorDune I think I'm missing the references here

@Frank darmok and jalad is a star trek the next generation episode

@GodEmperorDune That would be the reference
I haven't seen much of TNG.

it kinda became a meme, and this is making an 80s action movie poster out of the meme
it's a fantastic episode IMO, one of the best in TNG
and it has almost no connection to the rest of the series, so if you wanted to just watch it, you could do so
it takes a deep dive into what communication between different species could actually be when the universal translator can't provide an accurate translation because of missing cultural context
and basically that communication is more than just grammar rules in a language
but yeah, it has become a meme because "lol those aliens talk funny"
which is actually quite meta
anyway

I've also seen it used as a general meta reference to high-context communication

@murgatroid99 that seems more appropriate as a reference

10:32 PM
anyone here play prey?

I think what I've actually seen is that people will bring it up when a conversation gets too high-context or devolves into references to things

@Dragonrage Yes, and it's fantastic
I will warn you, though, that it's only worth playing if you like quality games

@Wipqozn ive been playing it lately. trying for a good run through atm.
ive killed 3 nightmares so far, and ive kind of done the skyrim style playthrough where you do every side quest before doing the actual main storyline

@Dragonrage Yeah sidequest it up IMO

Q: Why am I locked at 20 settlers?

AnoplexianI am looking to use the "Sim Settlements" mod for Fallout 4, but I can't seem to get past 20 settlers. Is the settlement limit fixed based on any factors? The ideal situation is to have 40 settlers where I can have a large metropolis of generated houses. Is the settlement limit 20 people and a...

@Dragonrage played it twice, it's great, probably going to play it a third time soon in NG+ with one of the extra hard mods
And yeah, after a certain point the appropriate response to the Nightmare is to drop-kick it into the nearest recycler and turn it into the delicious eyeball needles

i feel like doing the "bad ending" would be easier for killing stuff
@ToxicFrog you can put live things in recyclers? ive been throwing recycling bombs at them to weaken them, but the most effective way to kill them seems to hide in a place they cant reach and peak out and melt them with my q beam

@Dragonrage no, that's hyperbole, but it does leave behind typhon organs that you can recycle for lots of exotics
What do you mean by the "bad ending"? I can think of like four different things you might mean

i havent finished my first playthrough yet, but it seems if you delve into the typhon abilities a lot, it would lead towards a bad ending, vs staying human leading to a good ending

Aah, no
Going heavy on the Typhon abilities makes some parts of the game a bit harder (in particular, turrets will now consider you hostile) but doesn't affect the ending, and IMO the abilities you unlock more than make up for it

11:05 PM
ok, from what january was saying when i got my first one, i thought i would get the bad ending from getting them

And yeah, if you go the Terrifying Psychic Wizard route you can mulch a Nightmare in about two seconds using Psychoshock + Superthermal

i shall probably pick some of them up then, as they seem quite useful in blasting things to smitherines

The endings aren't affected by what abilities you learn, but by what you choose to do with them :)

also, turning into a glass bottle would make it much easier to get into certain places

Yes.
Although I think in the entire game there's only area you can only get into that way.
And I might even be wrong about that!
How far in are you?

11:07 PM
im supposed to be raiding alexs safe, but im in deep storage after clearing out the crew quarters
i think im supposed to be looking for keys to blow up something for the main quest

If you're not clear on what you're meant to be doing you do have a quest log :P
But yeah, at this point I believe you're looking for the two arming keys.

yeah, ive been using it for my optional quests and have been sorta ignoring the main quest until i do all the side quests i have
one thing i found interesting is that telepaths take fall damage

Huh. I did not know that.
I tend to destroy them in midair.

one was flying at me from a ways a way, so i glued his face with my upgraded glue gun, and he fell and died

From Japan, we have a product that disguises your phone charging cable as a VGA style D-SUB connector. You know, for kids. http://www2.elecom.co.jp/products/P-APLTDCNDSUB.html

11:15 PM
it was flying about as high as the green house roof

@TimStone hue
at least no one will try to borrow your charging cable

Q: How can you raise the ocean level in a MCPE world?

Jax ShepI am playing on a Coastal Village world. I want to simulate a flood by raising the ocean level. How do I do it?

I refuse to play without "rename fire ants to spicy bois"
i need this mod

11:31 PM
someone should write a userscript to preserve custom buttons for when we inevitably lose them.

also, i hope we get to keep lazers and the mothership. because like thats the sites entire theme.

@Dragonrage also, yeah, sidequesting the shit out of everything is legit. There's a few "points of no return" that lock away parts of the station but you can unlock them later.

apparently i should shot the chef earlier, because i cant find him anymore

You can catch up with him later

11:35 PM
> Twitter:
Were you even trying. 0/10

I'm not sure when or where because I liquefied his brain when I was playing

lol
> Mozilla:
This is a termite. -10/10
this is great

oh good. can i mind control him and make him fight a telepath? that seems like an appropriate ending for him
alternatively, eject him into space or lock him in a freezer

I do not know the details

i will inform you when i find him

11:38 PM
All I know is that if he escapes from the kitchen you can eventually encounter him again

maybe ill recycle him

That would certainly be easier to arrange than telepath thunderdome

yeah probably. i think i used my last few on a nightmare. i should be able to find some, or make some

Yeah, they're not that scarce
I think I badly underused grenades in my game, honestly

i need to use more emp grenades
i always forget about using them on technopaths and corrupted operators
i have like 40 of them or something

11:46 PM
EMP grenades are of questionable use when the stungun exists, honestly

they are so you can knock the technopaths down then shotgun them while they are stunned

Yeah, but the stungun does that too and does a whole bunch of damage to them

i mainly use it when there are a few operators nearby as well
