Q: Hyperbolic space and isomorphisam

vsk1996This is Lemma 1.4.4 from Scharlau's book Quadratic and Hermitian Forms. H is hyperbolic space on V and one can define bilinear form on this like below: Also I know from this lemma that Question is how to show it is injective group homomorphisam.First of all how to show O(H(V)) is group.

Please edit this question sir.

@vsk1996 Who are you calling "sir"? Are you sure there exists a sir? Also, you obviously know how to use MathJax, so why are you asking others to edit your own question for you?

Sorry for that but I am still new for using MathJax and don't know much of symbol so can you send me some documents where there is all information regarding Mathjax symbols?

@vsk1996 Here: MathJax Quick Guide.

@AsafKaragila, user243301 will continue engaging with you on the Election meta question, below my answer, as long as you continue responding. That's okay by me, but I really struggle to make sense of some of their comments, and they may be getting off topic. Just observing. But you are absolutely free to engage again in responding to their pings to you there; it might help them? I don't know.
@AsafKaragila never mind. You seem to be understanding them better than I do.

Aye, Captain @AlexanderGruber !

ahoy there

@AlexanderGruber Can I nominate @JyrkiLahtonen as a candidate? (I know, I know, that would require Jyrki's consent.) Kind of wish we didn't need the upcoming election. He'll be hard to replace.

@amWhy he'd have my vote.

Well, speak of the "devil", @JyrkiLahtonen! I'm still mourning our loss of you as a mod. But very grateful you're still active!
@AlexanderGruber Mine too!

10:27 PM
@amWhy I really feel exhausted with the elections now. But I have a thing about spectators that were never involved in anything, have very little reputation to them, and still speak up. If you want to be part of The Watchers, then stay in your non-interfering capacity. If you want to say more, do more.
@AlexanderGruber: Since you're here, let me ask you a question that would be more fitting perhaps in a different chatroom. Since when did the moderators know about the upcoming elections?

Nice message, @AsafKaragila. (And I'm not being sarcastic.)

@amWhy I didn't think you were.

@AsafKaragila depends what you mean I suppose
officially confirmed to us about a week ago, i wanna say

@AlexanderGruber Well, of course I mean what I mean. :)

but realistically we knew it was coming since jyrki resigned

10:36 PM
@AlexanderGruber Ugh. That is truly awful. I think that giving more than six days before the nomination even starts is important. I'd say that 10 days would be more appropriate.
@AlexanderGruber Funny. The same/next day after he resigned I had a beer with Arthur Fischer, and I told him, his response was "Oh, god, they're gonna have an election now probably..." :)

ha-- yeah, he was probably ready for a beer by that point
@AsafKaragila we'd been discussing it off and on for a while with the CMs, though, so I think there was adequate notice on the mods' end. Your opinion is that there is inadequate notice for the general public, though, yea?

@AlexanderGruber Arthur's Canadian, he's always ready for a beer.
@AlexanderGruber Yes. I think that part of the low-key election we had under a year ago, was in part because people didn't know there is going to be an election. The participation on meta in the related threads was preposterous. So there were very few nominations.
I personally struggled to find three candidates to vote for.

@AsafKaragila I remember being surprised by the speed myself.

@AsafKaragila Me too!

@AlexanderGruber Yeah. And I posted a "lessons from the elections" that was a big hit at the time, and went literally over the heads of the people in charge. Needless to say, I am disappointed.

10:48 PM
@AsafKaragila What do you think would be an appropriate amount of time?

@AlexanderGruber As I said a few messages ago, 10 days is probably better. Put out a banner, not just featured, somehow notify more people of the process. Ideally, of course, add a condition that voting can only take place if you've been active on meta in the form of voting on election related threads in the preceding three weeks to the election, or generally if you had cast more than ten votes on meta over the last two months.
If the people who participate in deciding who sits at the helm of norm setting actually care about the norms, I'd be much happier, even if elections become much less intense and with less people involved.
So either make it a HUGE thing, or make necessary for people to be involved in the process in order for them to be involved in the vote. The current middle ground is crap, if you ask me.

@AsafKaragila I'll link this in the mod room and talk it over a bit. We can probably ask the CMs to push back the nomination phase a few days, though I think it may be automated on their end so they may not be able to. Can't hurt to ask.

@AlexanderGruber Awesome. Thanks.

no problem

11:11 PM
@AlexanderGruber Should I post this on meta?

@AsafKaragila It's probably best not to until I know whether it's even possible to slow it down. I believe they have a new software going over there.
I sent a message to the CM, though, so we should know soon.

@AlexanderGruber Okay, I just figured that with some community support this might be better received by the Stack Overlords. But we might as well wait a bit.
