@trogdor so, the face I remembered is probably the one in the third panel of the comic
still, I somehow also remember a bigger version.
So it is probable that someone redrawn that.

mmm
that seems like a fair assumption

Digital comics. They can be zoomed in a good ways without significant quality loss.

@BESW yep, but what I actually meant was redrawn bigger version
probably fan art based on that scene.
...or the next page
(both pages taken from the original preview of issue #17 made back then)

ok, so it isn't just the enlarged version there that you mean
you think you saw a redrawing of it somewhere

yep
but I could be miss-remembering.
anyway, somehow related to the second page...
remember the true purpose of the wings.

10:52 AM
lol
the purpose of wings is to never take fall damage

11:05 AM
@trogdor there is a fan comic (very short, 3 pages max, probably found on deviantart) I once saw... Something about Twilight having a weird "nightmare" about Celestia planning to do something to change her color so that "our gods can sell new toys". It ends with Twilight waking up screaming.... and a last panel image of Celestia in her castle watching a pair of purple cardboard wings while saying "yes, these will do"

lol

Sadly, that comic I too lost in the big "your hard disk has vanished" crash.

that happened to me two weeks ago with a Win 10 update
technically I could look at all my stuff on the hard drive but,.... couldn't acess it

@trogdor nope, that was an hardware-level breakdown.
the HD just died out.

well it happened right after a Win 10 update though
like, this is that same computer
I was able to reset it
I lost some files but nothing I can't get back

11:14 AM
Sorry, I meant that in my case the HD had just died. No way to recover it - it just broke.
luckily no big loss either, but some mlp art I lost in there.

oooh
that sucks hard

11:49 AM
@trogdor I should have notices the clues before. About a month and half before that, a ram module died out (hardware failure again). That said, all that build was pretty unlucky.

ah

The name of the MB I used now escapes my mind, but I do remember it became pretty famous as one of the most unstable MB in the latest 20 years
In an ironic twist, the mother board survived the hardware it housed.

12:02 PM
that is kinda hilarious
in a horrible ironic way

oh, don't worry, It's not a big problem. For mlp, I just lost some art, and never went to deviantart to find it again afterward. The biggest loss was probably the Oblivion mods folder.
the 35GB mod folder
the only "lucky" part in that is that I don't remember playing Oblivion since.
That said, it is not like I would want to redownload all of those mods.
Especially since as far as I know the Nexus nowadays is full of malwertising.

12:18 PM
eeww
that sounds like it isn't worth it eh?

12:40 PM
oh, well, Oblivion is a good game. Or to be more precise, modded Oblivion is. I think I wouldn't be able to play Vanilla Oblivion even if I wanted to.
so, not having the mods keeps me from playing it. And in turn, not playing it makes me forget that I'd lost the mods

1:08 PM
I just mean the Viruses though
that you mentioned

@trogdor ads. Infected ads. Small site often don't care to check their advertisement providers and that is the result.
Deviant art is pretty much the same as far as I know. Been avoiding it for a while now.

@Derpy that is among the reasons i block ads from most sources. sites and advertising networks would like me to unblock ads, i wouldn't mind doing that, but more often than not they're flashy garbage, and some of the time they're malicious.
it's a This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things situation

@doppelgreener wait a second...

The day ADS will be legally required to be hosted by the hosting site instead that references to file on other servers I never asked to open and the hosting site will be legally required to ensure that they don't contain malvertising I will think about enabling them back. Not before.

Stack Overflow's internal ad network is pretty good, Google Ads is usually OK but has been host to malware sometimes.

youtube was struck with malvertising too not long ago.

oh dear

it was around January I think. Mostly, miners scripts.
