@Helwar okiedokie -- so, the starting point is kinda conventional: Bronze Dragonborn Oath of the Ancients Paladin

go on :)

with a backstory that she's the youngest daughter of the royal family on a small island nation of seafarers, and learned sailing and fighting growing up, then took a diplomatic post

which is what got her out and about and adventuring after a while. the twist though is that her oath as a paladin is to the Seelie Court itself, and not only bestows upon her great responsibility, but great power as well -- her build's set up to be a Paladin/Warlock multiclass

(spider-dragon-woman :) )

so, blasty magic? or want the spell slots for smite left and right?

(she also wound up becoming a spectrophile (in a Platonic sense))

probably a mix and match sort of thing

the campaign that she was originally from foundered on the rocks of DM time shortages

so she only made it to L3

I've used her in some short-form stuff since then, but haven't gotten her into a campaign since

My own pld is only lvl 4, we play that campaign sparingly

but yeah -- there will be some interesting stuff, with refluffing Warlock spells and the likes

she's supposed to be an antiprincess of sorts ;P (at least, if you come from the Disney angle on things.)

mine is Human, a simple farmboy from an out-of-the-way village, grew up listening to tales of his older brothers about the town militia and travels with the army, and much to the dismay of her mother (he was a very strong farm-boy that did much around the farm!) entered the militia

ah

only to discover he was great at training, a good swordsman, but unable to hurt a fly

village was attacked by pillagers and he stood frozen... (villlage is ok and family is alive and thriving!), but he blames himself for not being able to help (that's when he unknowingly swears an oath to protect those in need)

he thinks himself a simple swordsman, but he has attracted a "spirit" that lives out of the bonds that oaths make. (Find familiar :) This spirit can't talk but kinda "teaches" him the ways of the light, and he blames the magic he can do on it (while it's the other way around)

he thinks poorly of himself, thinks he is a coward for not being brave enough to kill when reason says that killing that guy/monster/thing would avoid more danger

that's why he's not constantly preaching over others, he's actually jealous they can do what he cannot

(in a way)

I haven't had that much chance to RP her strongly, to be fair

i have to kinda force my RP though all the battles and "I kill him" xD

at first I wanted to make him just a refluffed eldritch knight

but EK is sooooooo "meh" mechanically... T_T

yeah, EK is rather meh

hum, yeah, but it's a different kind of fancy

(btw: my Pal/War is set to be a bladelock as well)

I loved swordmage in 4e, can't replicate that in 5e in any way

also: her weapon of choice for a duel: warhammer or greathammer. go Polish on their poor, misbegotten soul

I like to challenge assumptions ;) so Pal/War is a pretty natural fit for me

(also, the whole anti-Disney-princess thing ;)
