Wow! Awesome! Thanks @AJ :)

A J
@steelersquirrel :)
I now have to ask @NapoleonWilson or @AnkitSharma or whoever creates a bookmark of this conversation to include this list as well.

Sure. Ankit will probably do it :)

:D

@steelersquirrel lol
@steelersquirrel lol, I am in for that

:D

5:51 AM
@steelersquirrel I need to check main site first
@steelersquirrel did you noticed Bettlejuice question

@AnkitSharma Yeah, I did earlier, but I just glanced at it.
I got kind of a bizarre answer to one of my questions...
I'm a little confused as to what the actual answer is to the question ;)

A: Was there an intentional reference with the quote "smoking cigarettes and watching Captain Kangaroo"?

Gunslnger82That is a funny coincidence, that I never noticed. I'm always pondering over how this movie started out as a Batman script, to notice something that subtle. But, I believe its very simple. John is broken up with his wife, and the song is about being broken up and having nothing to do but stare at...

A J
@ABcDexter :D

@AJ :D

A J
:D

I didn't want to flag it as "not an answer", but then Napoleon would just come back with..."Well, they did attempt to answer the question". Argh! ;)

6:02 AM
@steelersquirrel Yeah. Exactly. ;)

A J
@steelersquirrel I'll cast my usual delete vote. ;)

It's like he follows the rules and stuff. God! ;)

do we have a live stream for oscars?

They're already over, silly bean!

unadulterated by the commentary from the "reaction to oscars"
:(
(:(

6:05 AM
I don't really have a reaction to them. I was glad that Sam Rockwell won. That's pretty much it ;)
Typical Oscar ceremony.

ahaan!

My girl crush, Margot Robbie lost :'(
The Big Sick lost :'(
Bummer

A J
I am glad Gary Oldman won. He's quite a good actor.

@steelersquirrel I don't like her :P

Has he ever won an Oscar before tonight?

6:11 AM
Margot ROB

A J
@steelersquirrel Nope, but nominated only once.

@ABcDexter Awwwww. You don't?

Nope. Not even 1%

@AJ Oh, really? I liked him in that Immortal Beloved movie about Beethoven. I thought he was nominated for that.
@ABcDexter Why don't you like her?

A J
@steelersquirrel He was nominated for the Best Actor in 2012 for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

6:15 AM
@ABcDexter yes every year on hotstar

I also loved him in the Dracula movie.

@steelersquirrel :/
@AJ agreed

He was super romantic and passionate in that Dracula movie.

@ABcDexter I feel sorry fro you wrong choices :p

Q: Font similar to John wick's Tattoo?

ConanWhat is the font used in john wick's tattoo "Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat"?

6:16 AM
The last Oscars which i saw live was 2009 :/
Last night i was watching for few minues and then switched back to Tal memorial video

I kinda lost interest in awards shows the last few years. They just seem too political to me and it ruins all of the fun. I don't know.

A J
@steelersquirrel title?

Bram Stoker's Dracula is a 1992 American gothic horror film directed and produced by Francis Ford Coppola, based on the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker. It stars Gary Oldman as Count Dracula, Winona Ryder as Mina Harker, Anthony Hopkins as Professor Abraham Van Helsing, and Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker. Dracula grossed $215 million on a $40 million budget. Rotten Tomatoes' consensus cited "some terrific performances", but Reeves' turn has been widely criticized. Its score was composed by Wojciech Kilar and featured "Love Song for a Vampire" by Annie Lennox, which became an international hit, as...
It's got an awesome cast and director!

A J
@steelersquirrel Really? I only watched Oscars three times. Two times since last year and one time long ago on Star Movies. I really don't watch any award show except Oscars.

@steelersquirrel I thought they getting more diverse and acceptable lately
Previously they were more for white straight men

A J
6:27 AM
Are we not doing a challenge about working of Academy Awards this time?

@AJ I used to like the golden globes, but that's kinda turned into the same thing. Celebtities lead a charmed life and they have several outlets to profess their beliefs and views. I guess if they want to use the Oscar stage to do so, it's their business. I just don't want to hear about politics 24/7. There's still good things in the world! Focus on that :)

@AJ ask @NapoleonWilson

A J
@steelersquirrel ohh

@AJ Napoleon said no :(

A J
@steelersquirrel when?

6:28 AM
@steelersquirrel ohhh

@AJ When I asked him on the phone the other day ;)

A J
@steelersquirrel I want proof. ;P
@steelersquirrel And seriously? You discuss site stuff on phone? I thought you got another stuff to talk about ;)

@AnkitSharma Sure. I'm not talking about tolerance and diversity. Don't worry :)

@AJ maybe because it attract the question why X film won and why Y film tagged in Z category and how this actor/actress is supporting character not main
@steelersquirrel then ? I am little confused

A J
@AnkitSharma Ohh

6:31 AM
@AJ lol

@AJ No. We rarely if ever do. I was telling him about some thing that I read about the Oscar award and then I asked him if they were doing the same challenge about the awards show.

I though Call Me by Your Name got two award not one, I blame my mobile

A J
lol
@steelersquirrel Okay, but you didn't give me any proof yet. :P

@AnkitSharma Like...after Trump was elected President. Everyone just used their speeches to complain about it. I don't like the guy either, but it got old. That's all.
@AJ You can ask him when he wakes up tomorrow! I don't record our phone conversations, so I don't have "hard" proof ;)

A: Oscar 2018 Topic Challenge: The nominees for the Best Picture [completed]

Napoleon WilsonThe challenge is over and the top-voted question (with a score of 24 and ~6,437 views) was asked by Ankit Sharma, which makes him the winner of this challenge: 1. Is Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk historically inaccurate in portraying absence of the Indian army? The other questions asked, in order...

only 4
I am disappointed :/

6:34 AM
:(

@steelersquirrel I will love complaining about him, so if I get stage huge like that I will do the same. I am just tired of #MeToo and #TimesUp as it can be misused easily. But on the other hand I want justice too , so don't know

It's just like anything. If something keeps getting stuffed down your throat, you get tired of it. Trump is a dick. Harvey Weinstein is a dick. Racist people are dicks. I agree. I just don't obsess over it and let it turn me bitter. I would rather focus on the positive things about the world/life. What's done is done. Let's all learn from it and be better humans and not focus on the past or the fact that you hate the President. Most people do, but there's nothing I can do about it.
So... I will just keep living my life ;)
Some Oscar speech isn't going to change any of that. It just gets applause from the audience, but the rest of the world is something different. Hollywood kinda lives in it's own bubble. To each their own. All it does is make Trump send out more ridiculous ranting tweets :P

A J
Well, if you can't do anything about it, then don't talk. Right?

Sure. They can talk. It's a free country. I just get bored of listening ;)

A J
LOL

6:49 AM
My Valium that I took 30 minutes ago is starting to kick in...so, I'm rambling nonsense and gibberish.
Now, I feel like Donald Trump :P
One of the best speeches imo was Tom Hanks when he won for Philadelphia. It was sincere and heartfelt. Those are the speeches I love! Oh...and he outed his gay drama teacher to boot ;)
And when Cuba Gooding, Jr. won and was super excited and when Adrien Brody won and planted that huge kiss on Halle Berry. Those are super awesome Oscar moments!

@steelersquirrel lol, got your point
@steelersquirrel holy moly, run for your lives

Hehehehe!

@steelersquirrel I like many, such as Matthew McConaughey speech

Oh! That was a good one, too!

7:04 AM
I only have issue with the public reaction to Anne Hathaway's speech, for god sake that speech was and not hateable
Maybe because she is my gf and I can't take any hate for her ;)

I thought that edits weren't supposed to be made on block quotes from scripts/other sites? <confused squirrel>
@AnkitSharma I don't remember it.

I see scifi ad here and that reminded me I didn't check it from long time
@steelersquirrel I am not sure that was Oscar or not but she made correction of announcement person speech for wrong pronunciation of her name
and people lost there shit and called her stuff

So...are we supposed to reject edits to block quotes? I thought that they weren't supposed to be edited. I just want to know going forward.
Well, I guess it's okay since it was approved by 2 others. Add it to the list of things that confuse the hell out of me around here ;)

@steelersquirrel where?

JAD
uh, depends on the edit I guess
generally. don't fix quotes. not even typos, just add [sic] to show it was copied like that from the source

@AnkitSharma I liked Leonardo's Oscar winning speech :D

@steelersquirrel fixed
mod can reject approved edit too with one button

It wasn't a huge edit and it was a typo, but it was still a block quote. That's why I was confused.

But ti get submitted as edit

JAD
7:14 AM
hmm, I guess it's tricky, since they don't add a source for that quote

I'm outta here, people! See you guys :)

JAD
did they copy it from somewhere, or is it their own transcript?

No idea.

can you also mention the source where you copied the screenplay form — Ankit Sharma ♦ 34 secs ago
another problem with the post
@JAD that's why left comment

JAD
(Y)
I didn't see the comment yet

7:16 AM
I submitted it just now
1 minute back

JAD
Imo, if it is their own transcript, the quote should just say what was said exactly, so those grammar errors should prolly be fixed in that case.
if it is copied from another source, their spelling should be kept

Anything they change can be indicated by a [sic]
@AnkitSharma she's so famous I know her
After checking Wikipedia
Movie of the day: The King's Speech

@M.A.R. she was the Indian diva ;'(

Lots of complications when you wanna make a coffee in the morning.
We should have expected more in a kidney transplant
What happened is really just technical and boring

Q: Wanted More? Fifty shades of grey

user3041058Leila Williams, Christian's ex submissive apparently wanted more. The stuff in the red room goes from mild to extreme, also Christian Grey gets a high out of using these things roughly. What MORE could she possibly want !? Is there even a limit?

5:37 PM
@AnkitSharma Is that how it works? The source needs to be in the post?
I just want to know if we are supposed to reject any edits made to anything in a block quote.
@M.A.R. Yay! Awesome movie!

@steelersquirrel Yes. When you are copying something, we should give attribution.
@steelersquirrel yes. You can. Because the content is owned by someone else. It is their right. We should not make changes to it.

Okay. That's what I thought :)

@steelersquirrel you're r . . . r . . . r . . . right

Now I see why I'm such a good orator

5:45 PM
Hehehehe!
@M.A.R. Did you watch the Oscars lastnight?

Nope. I played SAS 4
Trying to catch up

@AJ AWESOME!!
@M.A.R. You didn't miss much ;)
@NogShine I was just second guessing myself for rejecting it because it was approved by 2 others. I thought I was going mad! That happens to me a lot ;)
@NapoleonWilson Where are you? Get in here and tell @AJ that you're not doing the other Oscar challenge :P

@steelersquirrel have you watched Shape of Water?
Well, as usual, a heavily nominated Nolan movie gets the unimportant Oscars.

@M.A.R. No. Not yet. That is one of the Oscar nominated movies that I actually do want to see, though!

But Gary Oldman winning is all that matters

5:57 PM
Yeah. I thought that he had already won an Oscar! Good for him!

:43220120

I was super happy that Sam Rockwell won! He's awesome!

@steelersquirrel this case is weird , we don’t know if it’s sourced or not , if not then edit is fine else not

:43220368

@AnkitSharma Oh, okay. So...if it doesn't have a source, then edits are okay. Got it!

6:01 PM
@steelersquirrel well, that's context dependent
Did the guy know how quoting works?

I don't know.
I just always thought that no matter what, we don't edit anything that OP puts in block quotes.

Well, if it got [sic]s, or is closer to the source than the OP was . . .

Yeah, I don't know...
There's never a clear cut "yes" or "no" answer around here ;)

@steelersquirrel Fifty Shades Freed
Ha, the level of pissedoffism you get with shit like that earning good money

Yeah. Those movies are just...bad :(
@AJ WUT? Why would someone fake that? Oh, God :'(

Q: Is the original Groot actually dead (and baby Groot is his offspring) or has he been cloned?

Metro BoominI always believed that baby Groot is the original Groot but reborn because plants can be cloned quite easily. The simplest way to clone a plant involves taking a cutting. A branch from the parent plant is cut off, its lower leaves are removed, and the stem is planted in damp compost. I alw...

I am proud to announce I had a question I could ask two days ago, maybe about GotG, but I forgot.

@M.A.R. what the fish
I am not proud of you
More of disappointed

Who the heck are you? Me being proud is enough
I wasn't here two days ago.
So the question up there about Groot reminded me I had a question, but not what it was.
Quick, someone ask another GotG question

@steelersquirrel No problem. It is your post. You know how to deal with it. :)

@steelersquirrel Facebook. It's always Facebook
@AJ taser images

6:30 PM
Facebook will be the death of us all ;)

@steelersquirrel If it hasn't already set a schedule for that

6:45 PM
Yep. Skynet is slowly taking control of all of us ;)

7:12 PM
@M.A.R. admit that you have bad memory

7:28 PM
Gheez. What's all of the controversy with what Emma Stone said when she presented Best Director lastnight? I swear that I miss these things because I am not easily offended or something ;)
I didn't see it lastnight, but I just saw a clip of it.

7:50 PM
@Walt Okay...so. I forgot to talk to you about the whole Vito thing. What was he doing to Meadow's boyfriend after he caught Vito with the male security guard? Was he trying to intimidate him, hit on him or bribe him?
Now that Finn is back in the show after Tony is recovered, they show Vito putting his hand on his wrist. What is that about? I always miss these little subtle things and don't know how to read them.
I know that Finn is totally scared of all of them. I just didn't know what Vito was trying to do with the baseball tickets and confronting him outside of the bathroom that day.

Q: 'Breaking Bad' Time lapses

filmmakerMy professor said 'Breaking bad' has one of the best time-lapse scenes. Can anyone please say what season and what episode that is? Thanks.

8:22 PM
@steelersquirrel Hmm, I remember something she said felt a bit strange to me. But I also can't remember what it was exactly.
Oh wait, was it where she said that "4 men and Greta Gerwig" were nominated?
That was a little...unfortunate.

@NapoleonWilson Yes. That is what the controversy is about.

Hmm, it was weird thing to say, but I wouldn't have run to the cops for it either.

After reading more about it, I guess people are upset because she was just making a snide remark about the lack of females nominated and not recognizing that there was an African American and Del Toro (I'm not sure his ethnicity) nominated.

8:45 PM
@NapoleonWilson I totally would have ran to the cops and I would have requested you to be the arresting officer :P

Well, I think the whole "let's count how many blacks/women/Tibetans are in the film/nominations/audience/wherever" attitude has driven any sensible representation debate ad absurdum anyway. People can't see the wood for the effin' trees anymore.
@steelersquirrel Hehehe!

@NapoleonWilson Yeah. Totally agree :)

@steelersquirrel But the irony in that is truely priceless. ;-)

The irony that Del Toro won?

@steelersquirrel personally, regarding stuff like that, I sometimes fear white women more than white men
The face of a racist has always been predominantly male

8:55 PM
@steelersquirrel No, the irony that in her endeavour to count innies and outies, she missed to look at the skin colour and the passports, too.

With lots of beard
Except Trump

@NapoleonWilson Ahhhh...okay.

@AnkitSharma ha, and you have good memory? Hahahaha
I have a bad memory about things that don't matter, like posting :p
Bah dum tiss
Maybe
I never found out when to bah dum tiss

@steelersquirrel Not sure. There's even a small chance he wanted to whack him; being gay in a NJ crew is like putting a giant target on your back. Personally, I think he was just going for subtle intimidation both times.
@steelersquirrel But you're once again zeroing in on interesting things. Enjoy the rest of part 1.

@Walt OMG!!! I was wondering if the gay thing was going to come into the show with Vito!!!

9:09 PM
And FYI, I meant 'kill', Napoleon. :P Just getting ahead of you there! Er, I mean... Geez. we could do this forever. :/

Hehehehe!

@steelersquirrel Which ep you at?

@Walt Let's see...just finished episode 5 of the last season. Bobby just shot some rapper in the butt and Tony just got home from the hospital.

Er, that's episode 4.
Ep 5 (as you can see from the title, so it's not really a spoiler), involves Jonny Sack and a wedding.

Oh! Okay. Well...then I just finished episode 4 :)

9:16 PM
@steelersquirrel Cool. I was worried you went back to Amazon and the botched the ep order again ;)
Anyway, I have a feeling you'll have more stuff to say after the next ep. :)
Signing off before I spoil anything else...

Bye Walt :)

> Yesterday Kim Kardashian — who I wouldn’t know if weren’t for Internet memes about her, one of the nice things about living outside the U.S. — revealed herself to be “obsessed” with anime, specifically Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx. Most of the reactions I saw to this on Twitter were negative, with most fans decrying the announcement as a stunt to get publicity similar to what actor Michael B. Jordan received when he came out as an otaku last month.
does anyone watch Keeping up with the Kardashians and notice anything anime in there?

A Kardashian doing a publicity stunt? Wuuuuut? No way! That's totally unheard of :P
@Memor-X Kim Kardashian (as well as the entire family) are all about publicity stunts.
She did fall for the "documentary" about mermaids on the Discovery channel, though. So...that should tell you something ;)

@steelersquirrel well, not something i don't already know
anyway if someone is obsessed with something you see it, especially from someone who insists their entire life has to be reality TV

I don't "keep up" with the Kardashians. Muahahahaha! Thank you, I will be here all week! :P

10:28 PM
@Memor-X Where did that quote come from?

@steelersquirrel JList Blog Email here's the JBOX Version which has less adult stuff than JList but NSFW discretion is advised for the product list (as there are panties on the bottom in this one)

@steelersquirrel Oh! ;-*
@Memor-X Other than the complete weirdness?

Are panties considered NSFW?
Maybe they aren't for me due to my profession ;)

@steelersquirrel depends on who you are and where you work

I see worse NSFW things at my job than panties. lol.
@NapoleonWilson I was just seeing if you were still alive :)

10:41 PM
@steelersquirrel That depends on the context.
@steelersquirrel Yes, I was taking a bath.

@steelersquirrel well then your fine

@NapoleonWilson context or contents? ;)

@Memor-X Don't worry. I'm just being silly ;)
A bath sounds good. Maybe it will get rid of this headache of mine :'(

10:47 PM
I'm going out of my mind with boredom and it's a super beautiful day outside. I think that I'm going to go outside and play!

Woot! \o/

> wow, a sunny day. this is great for playing outside *takes out Game Boy Advance and Solar Boy Django *
for those who don't know, the Boktai series (first one being Solar Boy Django) is a GBA game which uses a solar sensor to measure light levels which impacted the environment and some of your weapons, particualy the Pile Driver which is used to killed Vampires and how quickly you can finish the battle is determine by the level of sunlight

Q: Series vs. serial

john c. j.As I learned from Wikipedia and some other sites/forums, there is a difference between series and serials: A series contains the same characters throughout, but each episode is a different story. So, you can start watch series from any episode (Martial Law, NYPD Blue, Friends, Colombo); but, if...
