@EarlGrey my initial impression of the plot just from screenshots was that Kaban was a safari guide who was studying up on the animals and their habits and Serval tags along being overly attached to Kaban

Close. At first Serval only help her to go outside her territory border but she worried about Kaban and ended up tags along all the way till the very end

unexpectedly this is an adventure anime, and there's some evil creatures going around eating Friends.

well that mostly side show tho, most of the time it was about Kaban and Serval meeting new Friends
