@kenorb Do you know a way to block a URL in Linux

The host file can't do stuff like:

127.0.0.1 example.com/xyz

Firewall?

But you can also block via reverse proxy.

So redirect all your traffic through proxy such as squid, then you can set the rules there.

Some nice tool: Charles Web Debugging Proxy.

I just remembered I am using OpenDNS.

That has a block feature.

You can change the host in hosts file to the proxy which returns everything apart of blocked URLs.

Companies do that.
