I got an e-mail from a glasses website offering a list of their frames you can buy that match Pantone's color of the year

well, not "match" in the strict Pantone design-world way but in the spirit of "these are also purple!"

that is a very peculiar thing to advertise around, I wonder if it actually sells more purple frames :P

and people feel more "special" because they're wearing the color of the year (ish)

Well a lot of industries depend on the design of the year

So for example kids clother industry changes colors each year so that any mom seen reusing older models will stand out as having recycled things

I've worked with quite a few designers who didn't know what a Pantone color was, let alone normal people. It's just such an obscure thing to actively market around

the road I use to commute to work is a major interstate artery, top priority for keeping clear. So it's not so bad for me

it's hard not to want to just sprinkle salt all over your windows to make it easier but I imagine that would be quite detrimental to the paint finish

@DᴀʀᴛʜVᴀᴅᴇʀ I had the same idea, but Illustrator still has some very powerful vector manipulation tools that I can't replace with sketch yet

@Luciano i did web design in the browser but Im battling trying to figure out what to do for apps. I've read and still reading and watching video how to design in Sketch then shift to an app. Ive done traditionally everything in Bootstrap but it's unnecessary when I just need the landing page for a link to stores. Still wanting all icons to be SVG but I hate the price tag for Adobe but live the scripting options.

@DᴀʀᴛʜVᴀᴅᴇʀ I struggle to move on from Illustrator... from time to time there's some shape blend or other more complex operation and I can't do it on sketch.
