@patrix Haha, now you're showing off! :) But seriously, how do you lose hats? I guess it must be if there's a change in rep/votes or if something gets deleted?

Generally speaking, you don't lose hats (just like non-tag badges).

I'm not sure how @grgarside obtained that data, but if that's the correct count, it's definitely a bug in the Winter Bash codebase.

@Glorfindel That reminds me, I have a bug to report on Meta relating to the StackExchange app for iOS. Will try and do that tonight before going to bed.

@Glorfindel I'm more likely to believe it's a bug with my own hat-tracking, I only get to test it once a year :)

But maybe it's just highlighted a problem with the actual Winter Bash code? Haven't seen hats decrease when using almost the same code to make graphs for the previous years

Another chart fwiw, site-wide; I can do this for other sites or the ‘SE Network’ leaderboard too in the future if that might be interesting @Glorfindel
