@Tezz Just came to know Astamurthi forms of Shiva have temples associated with them.
1) Jambukeswaram, Trichy - jala Linga
2) Srikalahasti - Vayu Linga
3) Kanchipuram - Prithvi Linga
4) Arunachalam - Agni Linga
5) Chidambaram - Akasa Linga
6) Konark Sun Temple - Surya Linga
7) Chandranath, West bengal - Chandra Linga
8) Pasupatinath, Katmandu - Yajanama Linga

@TheDestroyer Oh ok... nice information... so Pashupatinath is Yajamana Swarupa which is equivalent to Atma Swarupa...

@Tezz Owner of me or a Jiva. Right?

@TheDestroyer yes ruler of Jiva...

@Tezz Ok. This is actually new info. But i couldn't understand how some names of Astamurthi are associated with these elements.
Sarva means everywhere. How it is related to Prithvi?
I think there is no Surya Linga in Konark and not sure about Chandra Linga which is in West bengal.

@TheDestroyer there are various variations... for eg. As per Shatapatha Brahmana Sarva is water...

A: What are the eight forms (Ashtamurti) of Lord Shiva?

TezzLord Shiva forms the basis of creation of everything and it is also represented by his AshtaMurti or Eight Fold forms. 1) AshtaMurti in Vedas: RigVeda states Lord Shiva as 'Pururupa' or 'one who has multiple forms.' and RigVeda also states 'Yajatam Vishwarupam' ie. Who himself is in the form of...

@Tezz How are they correlated? Any reason?
Yes. I saw your answer.

Thus the AshtaMurti as per Kaushitki Brahmana of RigVeda are:

Bhava ➡ Water
Sarva➡Fire
Pashupati➡Air
Ugra➡Plant and Trees (Earth element) Mahadeva➡Sun
Rudra➡Moon
Ishana➡Food
Ashani➡Indra
Thus AshtaMurti as per Shatapatha Brahmana are:

Rudra ➡Fire
Sarva➡Water
Pashupati➡Plants
Ugra➡Air
Ashani ➡Vidyuta (Electricity/Lightning)
Bhava➡Parjanya
MahaDeva➡Moon, Prajapati
Ishana➡Sun
So there is variations itself in Vedas...

Kaushitiki Brahmana part of which Veda?

Rig Veda
The reason given in Shatapatha Brahamana why Sarva is water is as:

Shatapatha Krishna Yajurveda right?

11. He said to him, 'Thou art Sarva.' And because he gave the him that name, the waters became suchlike, for Sarva is the waters, inasmuch as from the water everything (sarva) here is produced. He said, 'Surely, I am mightier than that: give me yet a name!'
Shatapatha is of Shukla YajurVeda.... @TheDestroyer

@Tezz ohh..ok.
