I imagine it's for the sort of people who can auto-pilot turning their alarm off, so the process doesn't wake them and they end up doing it in their sleep. Like those alarms with motorized bits that fly/roll off and you have to chase them before alarm will turn off.

@TrentHawkins I understand why one would want them, but it still seems like torture and a great way to ruin my morning

because the first thing I do when waking up is definitely do a puzzle while an alarm is going off

Just stop using the computer at 10 PM, go to bed at 11 so your eyes can rest and you won't have big issues

and tbh, if you turn the alarm off on auto-pilot, you could probably do the puzzle on auto-pilot

I'm stressed out that the contractor is going to make a big deal now out of cramped workspace (the kitchen itself is empty).

I also don't know why they keep having things delivered to me way in advance of them needing them, though, instead of having them delivered to their own warehouse or whatever and bring them as necessary.

Like if my house were any smaller than it is this wouldn't even be feasible.

and if you are a DIY kind of person, the cons of owning a house vs renting don't really apply to you as much

@KevinvanderVelden you still probably need to rent something if you cancel anyway. You can sell the house (not as easy as switching rental place, but still)
