@KeshavSrinivasan @TheDestroyer @SwiftPushkar @Tezz @Pandya @Yogi @KrishnShweta @Friendy @allIhavemissed What is the differrence between karma and Karmayoga? Bhakti and Bhaktiyoga? Are they entirely different ?
Gita is talking about Karma Yoga and not just Karma. Gita's selfless action is only for those who are trying to attain moksha through the practice of Karma Yoga. Your question is only about Karma and the answer is that selfless action will not get you higher salaries or opportunities or promotions. — Pradip Gangopadhyay 6 hours ago

Q: What does it mean to see dead relatives alive in dreams

MrigRecently, for sometime my friend have been dreaming of his dead relatives. This is happening for a few days now. Dreams are not scary instead they casually talk to each other. Usually its 3-4 relatives whom he dreams about. He was not so close to a couple of those relatives and one of them is not...

@AnuragSingh welcome

10:18 AM
@SreeCharan Bhakti is devotion to lotus feet of Bhagwan. anybody who is devoted to Bhagwan is a Bhakta. While Bhakti Yoga involves meditation on Bramhavidyas which has an eligibility barrier.

@SreeCharan karma is action and karma yoga is knowledge of action.

@SreeCharan Similarly Karma is just any action like eating or bathing but Karma Yoga involves doing satvika phala tyaga of performed karma.
@SreeCharan BG Chapter 12 gives bhakti yogis lakshana while chapter 3 gives details on karma yoga.

@TheDestroyer OK :)

@sv is absent since many days.. I think its quite unlikely for an active user like him to be missing for so many days ! @TheDestroyer
I wanted to post the above message in the other room called " What will you ask from God...?" but that room is now frozen. @TheDestroyer

@Rickross Do you want me to unfreeze it for you?
@TheDestroyer I just tried to OCR this image using Google OCR and it didn't work: ahobilamutt.org/us/acharya/lineage/thaniyan/12-range-s.jpg
@TheDestroyer When I clicked open in Google Docs, the Google Docs document just showed the image, not any text underneath.

@KeshavSrinivasan No its alright. Thanks. Actually sv talked in that room , not sure if he ever talked here or not.

4:11 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan I think only pdf can be used for OCR not jpgs

@TheDestroyer I've used it on images before. In any case, I can convert it to PDF.

@TheDestroyer OK thanks! What letter is not clear?
@TheDestroyer Sri Rangacharya, number 16 on the left side.
@TheDestroyer By the way, I converted to a PDF: gdurl.com/aEiL But still OCR didn't work.

Sreekrishnapaadapaada..loalupam..
after Paada. It's not clear.

4:27 PM
@TheDestroyer Oh ok

From Tamil, i guess "bjna" like in "Yajna".
@KeshavSrinivasan I think google OCR works only for certain Devangari fonts.
or encodings.
@SreeCharan @SwiftPushkar can correct my transliteration.

@TheDestroyer OH, you can read Tamil?

@KeshavSrinivasan Yeah. I learned it to read bus names in Chennai.
But forgot most of the letters now.

@TheDestroyer - Yes , anytime 📄 what u want to translate ? 😊

@SwiftPushkar
Write it in Devanagri here.
or correct my transliteration.

@KeshavSrinivasan This is the best OCR tool for Sanskrit. But cost of this software is too high. I checked demo version. It works fine.
But we can't copy text to clipboard in demo version.

4:46 PM
@TheDestroyer Transliteration for the above shloka?

@SreeCharan Yes.

द्रामिडाम्नायदेशिकम् ॥ & गुणार्णवम् । also रग्ड़ार्यमहं - @TheDestroyer , correction in words

what is the letter beside paada?

@TheDestroyer पादाब्ज लोलुपं

That letter is not properly visible

abja means which is born in the water. i.e., a lotus. Here the composer of the shloka is showing no difference between Sree Rangaarya and the lotus. Rupaka Samasam. @TheDestroyer @SwiftPushkar @KeshavSrinivasan

@SreeCharan - 😊👍👍 ok

@SreeCharan wow! There is samasa named Rupaka Samasa. i didn't know.

@TheDestroyer Exactly.

telugu and Sanskrit are very close. Telugu Grammar and Devanagari are two things which i'm using now.

@TheDestroyer రా అన్నది నిన్ను కాదు. 😊

Read long ago but useful now.

@TheDestroyer By the way, the reason that I'm interested in Sri Rangacharya is that Ahobilam Matham, which is the Sri Vaishnava Matham my mom's family belongs to, has multiple Paramparas. It's a Vadakalai Matham, but one of its Paramparas connects with the Thenkalai Guru Parampara, except Sri Rangacharya is where the Paramparas start to diverge. So I'm planning to post a question on him.

@SreeCharan అర్ధమయింది. కాని అలా పుష్కర్ స్మిలీయ్ దొబ్బేయడం భావ్యం కాదు.. :P :P

@TheDestroyer There are many sandhis and samasas in telugu and sanskrit. They are called Sanskrita sandhis. Eg: Guna sandhi, Bahuvreehi samasam. Rupaka alankaram and Rupaka samasam hold for both languages.

@KeshavSrinivasan ok. :)
@SreeCharan @SwiftPushkar @KeshavSrinivasan i came across this carnatic song which is very good. Listen to it if you haven't.
@SwiftPushkar Carnatic song about Rama.
Raghuvamsha Sudha is a popular kriti in Carnatic music, composed by Patnam Subramania Iyer. It is set in the raga Kathanakuthuhalam and is in Aadi tala. It has been rendered by several musicians, including: Chembai; M. S. Subbulakshmi; K. J. Yesudas; Neyyattinkara Vasudevan ; and E. Gayathri. @TheDestroyer I don't like when they mix up drums, gitar with carnatic music.

@SwiftPushkar See this wiki page if you don't know about carnatic music.
Carnatic music, Karnāṭaka saṃgīta or Karnāṭaka saṅgītam is a system of music commonly associated with the southern India including the modern states Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, but also practiced in Sri Lanka. It is one of two main subgenres of Indian classical music that evolved from ancient Hindu traditions, the other subgenre being Hindustani music, which emerged as a distinct form because of Persian and Islamic influences in northern India. The main emphasis in Carnatic music is on vocal music; most compositions are written to be sung, and even when played...
@SreeCharan Yeah. But her voice is good.

@SreeCharan - ok :)

5:32 PM
@SwiftPushkar @SreeCharan Most of carnatic songs were written in Telugu (but close to Sanskrit in meaning) protected by Tamilians.

Q: What happens if non-Dalit touches a Dalit?

ArmaanSome people say that it is bad to touch a Dalit and there are many instances where I hear that non-Dalits will not go near Dalits.

@SwiftPushkar haha. These days caste system questions are increasing.

@TheDestroyer - that exactly i was about to say :)
