@SwiftPushkar That's nice. But I have listened to Sri Ramachandra Kripalu all day yesterday.

@SreeCharan - Namaskaram , yes ,that song is also the best and melodious 😊👍👍
@TheDestroyer - Namaskaram to you also , how are you 😊👍👍🌷

@SwiftPushkar Fine bro!
you?

5:08 AM
@TheDestroyer - 👍👍 me fine too , check this - dvaipayana.net/purana/barbarika/barbarika-skanda-summary.html here are sanskrit shlokas of entire skanda purana babarika chapters 59-66 ,

@SwiftPushkar Thanks! Good site.

@TheDestroyer - yes but only one thing is , we have no idea about autheticity of those shlokas , i analyzed those and most are consistent with translation given by motilal banarasidas version 😊

@SwiftPushkar I think they are authentic.

@TheDestroyer - yes 👍👍
@KeshavSrinivasan - have you read the padma purana chapter abt.Amalaka ? 😊

2 hours later…
7:10 AM
@SwiftPushkar Just watched. It's nice :)

@KrishnShweta - 😊👍👍

7:23 AM
@TheDestroyer - 👍👍 adding shloka's

@SwiftPushkar see this
What is Voting irregularities?
@TheDestroyer Do you remember, once we discussed about his account? Is it the reason for suspension?

7:48 AM
@KrishnShweta - I think , his rate of gaining reputation points was not natural , he must have gain high reputation in less time etc.So system sensed abnormalities in voting pattern & gaining reputation &suspended account.😊 it's just my guess
@KeshavSrinivasan - I think Kshetrapala god of Pariyatra mountain is Shree-Krishna himself - Ref.Harivamsha purana😊

8:11 AM
@SwiftPushkar Most of the people can't understand the word Kshetrapala. 😃😃😃

@SreeCharan - haha yes , i know , but that message was specifically for u and ankit , and i think some Indian guy's are there , but we don't know each other , i think they might be knowing hindi or some sanskrit 😊👍👍

@SwiftPushkar Yeah. AJ is an indian.
We find Indians whereever we go.
Dawny33 is an Indian. He is a mod on DEVops.

@SreeCharan - And most of the time i can't understand what the user's talk over there & rarely visit that room 😀

@SwiftPushkar You visit that room? Yeah. We can't understand because we don't watch many english movies.

@SreeCharan - ohh , and I think lot's of Indian guy's on stack overflow & mathematics also 😊

8:18 AM
They talk about everything. Especially english movies. I remain silent at that time.

@SreeCharan - yeah , the topics are discreet ranging from food to politics & they talk in short sentences and use code type language which they only can interpret ,so we won't get what exactly they are saying ,even we know the topic of discussions 😀

@SwiftPushkar They rarely use the ping. Ours is the only room, where ping is used.

@SreeCharan - What you think about why people reject mythology part from puranas but accept mythology part from movies , although movies take script's from ancient texts itself

@SwiftPushkar They say, movie is a movie. Watch it like a movie. They don't take it seriously. Rajiv Malhotra says in a video "We think that they(directors) are making our scriptures popular by making serials like siya ke ram and mahabharat etc.,. But they use our scriptures to make money. But in Siya ke ram, Sita does a duet with Rama. This should be condemned."
@SwiftPushkar As a result, what is shown in the movie or serial, people think that is exactly happened in reality too.

8:35 AM
@SreeCharan - ok , unfortunately i also do not watch TV serials , but will start .. maybe..☺

@SwiftPushkar Why? Mythological serials?
They say mythology because much artistic license is used. Also most of the part is taken from regional translations and adaptations.

@SreeCharan - Yes , i think the medium is audio-visual in that case , where as we can only read puranic stories , may be that's why tv shows and movies are popular and people generally believe what's shown😊

@SwiftPushkar For example, regarding the exile of Maa sita, random people had rumors. But in a movie it is shown that a washer man had made that claims on sita. That resulted in exile. Most of the people don't know that it wasn't washer man who made the claims in uttara Ramayana..
I used to watch Mahabharat (starplus). In that serial , they use an artistic license where an arrow appears at the archer's will to the bow. Actually it is a blunder. Because only Arjuna had the boon of "akshaya tuniras" from Indra in Mahabharata. @SwiftPushkar

@SreeCharan - yeah , But i wonder , there was Ram-Rajya at that time so how people's minds got corrupted ,and they said such things abt.sita ? And yes some part's have to be shown exagarted in order to increase popularity. of shows 😊

@SwiftPushkar Are you interested in movies?

9:01 AM
@SreeCharan - Yes , i used to watch fantasy movies

@SwiftPushkar Why don't you create a account on Movies&TV?
@TheDestroyer @SwiftPushkar How did you set other location in profile?

9:34 AM
@SreeCharan I think spam. I marked it as spam and it was deleted.

9:55 AM
@SreeCharan Why you removed ?

10:29 AM
@TheDestroyer Question asks about Shiva. So why ?
@TheDestroyer OK

@SreeCharan Rishis asks what Hinduism says about it. So, Scriptures tag or Shiva-purana tag is apt. he was expecting some story for that reason.

@TheDestroyer Then scripture would be fine. There are stories about shiva in other puranas too. So purana tag would be apt. But not necessary.

@SreeCharan Shiva Purana is main authoritative scripture for Shiva among all Puranas or scriptures after Shruti. Tag is not redundant.

Add scripture and purana tag if you feel necessary.

@SreeCharan - I don't know , I am not much interested in movies and tv , but probably the ankit is there that's why

10:38 AM
@SwiftPushkar I was not interested in that site but I have earned 270 rep very quickly. Don't know how.
@SwiftPushkar I too created that account due to @AnkitSharma. But he calls me a spy o-O

@SreeCharan - 😂 why , as a spy ?

10:53 AM
@SwiftPushkar First he thought I was just following him wherever he went. Then I told him I joined movies and tv.

@SreeCharan - lol 😀

@SreeCharan Common that was joke

@AnkitSharma LOL. I know.

@SreeCharan hmmm :)

@AnkitSharma Of course 100 is association bonus. So only 170 is earned.

11:09 AM
@SreeCharan Movies & TV is a graduate site and more active user then here so earning rep there is bit easy

@AnkitSharma yes. many active users are there and editors, voters too.

yup
It take time

@Pandya I just posted a question about the Ramanandi sect I was telling you about earlier:
0
Q: How does the Ramanandi sect originate from the Sri Vaishnava Parampara?

Keshav SrinivasanAs I discuss in this question, Vishnu is said to have taught the principles of Vaishnavism to four gods: Lakshmi, Brahma, Shiva and Sanatkumara. And they in turn started the four main Sampradayas or traditions of Vaishnavism: Sri Sampradayam, Brahma Sampradayam, Rudra Sampradayam, and Kumara Samp...

Check out this super site - Agama Academy , lots of good books abt various topics , tantra , vidhies etc. -agamaacademy.org/digital-library-en.php

@SwiftPushkar Unfortunately they only have two English books: the Kirana Agama and a guide to the Padal Petra Sthalams.
@SwiftPushkar The Padal Petra Sthalams are the 275 sacred places of Shiva sang about by the 63 Nayanars, analogous to the 108 Divya Desams or sacred places of Vishnu sang about by the 12 Alwars.
@SwiftPushkar This site has a lot more Shaiva Agamas in English: himalayanacademy.com/readlearn/books

3:09 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan - oh ok , there are some other books also like - SANSKRIT-ENGLISH DICTIONARY , AMARAKOSA - Namalinganusasana - Sanskrit Thesaurus :)
@KeshavSrinivasan - yes , i already know about that site , :) himlayanacaddemy

@SwiftPushkar By the way, Himalayan Academy is run by the Saiva Siddhanta Church, which I discuss in my question and answer here:
5
Q: What commentary on the Brahma Sutras does the Saiva Siddhanta Church support?

Keshav SrinivasanThe term "Shaivite" is overused nowadays. For instance, Iyer Brahmins are often called Shaivites, but they're actually followers of Adi Shankaracharya's Smartha sect (which I discuss here and here) and simply adopt Shiva as their Ishta Devata. True philosophical Shaivism is relatively rare nowa...

@KeshavSrinivasan - yes , thts grt , I think you have covered wide variety of topics :) keep it up :)

@KeshavSrinivasan good question. Btw, I'm looking for verses from Samhita that demonstrates the apurusheyatva of Vedas /cc @Tezz
Rigveda 1.164.65, (सत्यश्रुतः कवयो) 5.7.8 and Brihadaranyaka 2.4.10 — Pandya ♦ 1 hour ago

@KeshavSrinivasan - wht u think abt. my guess abt. Pariyatra mountain ?

How about RigVeda 6.21.6?

3:16 PM
@Pandya - Hiii , I am looking for the same also , but have't found anything solid yet :)

@SwiftPushkar Good; have you read Samhitas?

@SwiftPushkar What does the Harivamsa say about Krishna and the Pariyatra mountains?

@Pandya - yes

@SwiftPushkar Glad to know! (I've not read Veda Samhitas yet)

That verse says "Inquiring after him, thy later servants, Indra, have gained thy former old traditions.
Hero, to whom the prayer is brought, we praise thee as great for that wherein we know thee mighty." What does that have to do with the authoritativeness of the Vedas?

3:20 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan -It does not directly say krishna being Kshetrapala of that mountain , but Shree krishna promised the mountain that he will stay over there , so just guessed from that description :)

@Pandya In any case, it's kind of circular to use the Vedas to prove the authoritativeness of the Vedas. It's like if you lend someone money and you ask him "How do I know I can trust you?" and he responds "Because I'm telling you that I'm trustworthy."
@Pandya For a non-circular proof of the Pramanya and Apaurusheyatva of the Vedas, see the Purva Mimamsa Sutras.

@KeshavSrinivasan Actually I was looking for alternative translation (rather than that we find at sacred-texts.com).
@KeshavSrinivasan Yes.

@Pandya - mostly sacred text translation :)

@KeshavSrinivasan I found सत्यश्रुतः कवयो used multiple times in Rig-Veda

@Pandya @KeshavSrinivasan - see this - ancientvedas.com

3:25 PM
@Pandya OK, the best English translation of the Rig Veda is the newly released Oxford 3-volume translation. Here's what it says: "The closer ones, asking about him, have guided themselves following your distant, ancient (acts) worthy of fame, Indra.
As far as we know it, that far we chant to you as the great one, you hero with the sacred formulation as your vehicle."
@SwiftPushkar That's the same as the sacred texts translation. But it's nice to have the Sanskrit and English interspersed like that.

@KeshavSrinivasan ok. Can you give what is the translation for सत्यश्रुतः कवयो?

@KeshavSrinivasan - yes long ago i gave you this link , but till today i lost that and desperately was looking for that , but fortunately , searched in chat today and got that , and yes that was my guess also , that might be same as the sacred texts translation.:) but is more easy to search

@SwiftPushkar I used it before long time but found trouble in finding verse (I mean numbering is different)

@Pandya - oh ok , and there are lots of marathi and hindi alternate translations also by Indian scholars , but those are in the form of hard copy books , i will give u list later on :)

7.76.7

3:48 PM
@Pandya - what is abt.that ? its abt.usha

3:58 PM
QUIZ - Name the six Acharyas of the puranas.

मॅडम नमस्कार 🙏 कैसी हैं आप ?

Mai theek hu. Aur aap?

@KrishnShweta - Me fine too , have you started reading puranas ?📚

Just now I completed BG :)
I'll start reading SB from Saturday @SwiftPushkar

@KrishnShweta - ok , nice , ask if you find something difficult in SB or in Shiva purana 😊👍👍💐👏👏

@SwiftPushkar check 10.125.04 /cc @KeshavSrinivasan
@KrishnShweta Excellent!

5:03 PM
@SwiftPushkar OK :)
@Pandya Thanks!! How are you?

@KrishnShweta Fine :)

Cool!

Hello all

@taytay Hello

Thoughts on J. Krishnamurti?
@anyone
If you haven't heard of him, I highly suggest watching some of his videos on Youtube.

5:06 PM
@Pandya - hmm , " 4 Through me alone all eat the food that feeds them,—each man who sees, brewhes, hears the word outspoken
They know it not, but yet they dwell beside me. Hear, one and all, the truth as I declare it." intrasting 👍👍
@taytay - Hello & Welcome 💐

I don't bring him up to antagonize anyone. I'd really like to find a community where I can come in and discuss people certain topics that perhaps I can't discuss with my friends.
@SwiftPushkar Thank you
How are you today?
Also, I am new to chat.stackexchange. Is there a way to have pinned chats to the side?

@taytay - Yes , its nice , you can share your views and information here in chat with users , We will read abt.him and surely we will discuss abt.the topics you are interested in 👍👍

Do you know what Love is?

I make the man I love exceeding mighty, make him a sage, a Ṛṣi, and a Brahman. @Pandya

What do you mean by that?
Sirs and ladies and nightcrawlers, I must be getting back to work. Good bye.
I hope you'll read Krishnamurti, and hopefully you all can recommend some reading for me.

5:13 PM
@taytay - That is the Rig-vedic verse , we were discussing abt. that in our chat 😊

@KeshavSrinivasan This question is not duplicate of linked question.

Q: Can the "supreme authority" of Veda be proved from Veda itself?

RickrossWe know that the Vedas are considered as both Apaurusheya and the most authoritative among all Hindu Shastras. But do the Vedas themselves speak about their authoritative nature? AFAIK, such authoritative nature of the Vedas can only be proved by taking help of other Hindu Shastras like the Smr...

Apaurusheya

@TheDestroyer Do you mean Authority & Apaurusheyatva are different?

@TheDestroyer - I think Apurusheya itself is the highest authority ,so i think they are pretty close 😊

in Agama and Tantra, 23 secs ago, by The Destroyer
@Rickross Exactly. Need not be. Apaurusheya means "Rishi" or not men. But they need not be Supreme themselves. Or they implicitly convey that?
@SwiftPushkar @Pandya I think being "Apaurusheya" may not convey Supremeness.

@TheDestroyer - but it's been considered as such by many previous acharyas & rushies also , so through them only we can say that apaurusheya means authority in hinduism or at least we should interpret the meaning as such , we will find more abt that😊

5:29 PM
@TheDestroyer I think Apaurusheya (Shruti) is definitely considered superior in terms of authority than any other smriti scriptures.

@Pandya long time no see
@Pandya Do you use new Mobil chat?

@SreeCharan Actually I'm constrained to focus on other things and has become partially inactive here.

@Pandya @SwiftPushkar अ + पौरुष = अपौरुष not Purusha or not men. Literally it doesn't say Supreme nature.

@Pandya No problem

@TheDestroyer Yes, you're right but as I said it is believed to be most authentic.

5:38 PM
@Pandya Yes. But he asked a question on that. Op wants to know explicit verses.

@TheDestroyer - Yes , but i think what the word wants to convey is "Devine" , other than wordly , so there might be lots of meanings of that word 😊

@TheDestroyer Hmm... I think we should ask @Rickross to make it clear.

@SwiftPushkar Yes. But explicit references are good. अपौरुषेय is scriptures "not by men" but in context of Vedas, they are divine and Supreme. But he wants verses about Supreme nature of Vedas from Vedas itself.
@Pandya He feels both are different.

@Rickross your both questions of seeking verses from Samhita that demonstrates authoritativeness & apaurusheyatva looking very similar.

in Agama and Tantra, 18 mins ago, by Rickross
@TheDestroyer Yes Apaurusheya means not formed by men.. does not immediately imply that they are supreme in authority.. even if they are should have to be explicitly mentioned.

5:44 PM
ok guys I will take your leave now TC , BYE , Good Night ,Happy dreams 😊🙏💐🌛

@SwiftPushkar GN, enjoy Sushupti !

@SwiftPushkar GN Bro!

@TheDestroyer oh! ok

@TheDestroyer - Yeah , i too searched but haven't found anything directly rickross wants from upanishadas or from vedas , but puranas do talk abt that i think ,as he wants the ref.from samhitas only😊
@TheDestroyer - Yes 👍👍💐

@SwiftPushkar I think there are some (3-4) verses related to what he wants but in order to answer the question, we have to explain/elaborate based on those verses; I think commentary like Sayanacharya Bhashya on hymns may be useful.
