@TheDestroyer what does Vamakesvara Tantra contains..?..
@Tezz I don't know much. it's a Shakta tantra with some info on Sri Chakra, Sri vidya.
@Tezz Shall i mail you?
@TheDestroyer Oh ok... mail me... at least I will know how will Shakta Aagam look like...
@Tezz In week days answer, you can highlight Sanskrit words. Good answer.
03:10
@Tezz Mailed you. It's 41 MB in size.
03:25
@TheDestroyer Oh.. Thanks for the edit... I didn't knew that it is possible to bold part of Words also...
@Tezz @TheDestroyer शुभोदयः I thought of editing it but it is author's affiliation. So halted.
@SreeCharan I have full rights to edit Tezz answers and Tezz has full rights to edit my answers. haha...
@SreeCharan haha... you can also feel free to edit my answers...😀😀
@TheDestroyer haha... ✔✔✔
@TheDestroyer haha...
@Tezz OK.
03:52
@Pandya Keshav Srinivasan and I belong to same veda shakha.
04:13
@SreeCharan Krishna Yajurveda Aapstamb Shakha? Ok
@Pandya Yes.
04:37
@SreeCharan Oh, Rama is your favorite? Then you would like the poems of Kulasekhara Alwar. Rama was his favorite too.
@SreeCharan Also, did you know that Nathamuni's death involved devotion to Rama? Nathamuni saw a king traveling with his retinue and he chased after them, thinking that they were Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, and Hanuman. And along the way he passed away.
04:53
Good Morning To All 🙋🌞🌸🌷🍁
@Tezz - Wow , impressive find and answer abt.weekdays , i am giving u 5 sun's instead of 5 stars today ☀☀☀☀☀😀😀
@SwiftPushkar haha... Thank you!... 🎯🎯🎯
05:09
@Tezz - but actually i am not giving u the sun's cause sun itself is a STAR 😁
@SwiftPushkar But Brahman is cause of Sun 😁
@TheDestroyer - Yes , and in Hinduism sun is also said to be Brahman 👍
@SwiftPushkar 👍
@SwiftPushkar Scientific speculation is off-topic here. See related meta site. :P lol
@SreeCharan - HaHa 😂😂lol , like that 👍👍👍
05:15
@SreeCharan speculation in Hinduism is scientific by nature... 😀😀
@SwiftPushkar Sun is not a star... Stars are Sun... haha ....
@KeshavSrinivasan Didn't know that. What is the story?
@SreeCharan - but if we observed carefully in Hinduism texts like puranas and even upanishadas ,we surprisingly find some scientific theories , like motion of Planets , particle physics theories etc.
@SreeCharan - BTW , found Narayanopnishad same as GanapatiAtharvaShirsha , lot's of similarities in both😊
@SwiftPushkar Yes. In sundara kanda of VR, Sita ma mentions about abortion. Valmiki mentions about a machine used to make boulders fly high in the air.
@SwiftPushkar Is it? any ways I don't know about both of them. I didn't read any upanishad.
@SreeCharan - They both are upanishad's but they are like mantras Don't u know GanapatiAtharvaShirsha at least , How come?
05:31
@SwiftPushkar I know they are mantras. But didn't hear the names before. Aren't they among 108 upanishads?
@SwiftPushkar It happened. When I see vedas and upanishads, I don't pronounce the mantras. Instead I only read the translation. Mis pronounciation will give bad effects.
@SreeCharan - ohh ,ok but we can safely listen to mantras on web or in temple's or veda-Pathashala etc.👍 back in🔙🕛 Hour 😊
05:52
@Tezz I just posted a question on Buddhism.SE about the Alankarabuddhi text quoted by Kumarila Bhatta:
0
Q: Does the Buddhist text the Alankarabuddhi still exist?

Keshav SrinivasanAs I discuss in this question, by far the most popular school of Hindu philosophy today is the Vedanta school, which is based on the philosophical portions of the Vedas. But in the time when Buddhism was at its peak popularity in India, the most popular school of Hindu philosophy was the Purva M...

@SreeCharan Here's the story: gdurl.com/by4b
06:35
@KeshavSrinivasan Is the "sage" mentioned is nathamunigal? Did he live for 540 years?
06:49
@SwiftPushkar I listen only when a priest or an expert recites it.
Today is Birthday of Swami Vivekananda!
^^ @Tezz @SwiftPushkar @SreeCharan @KeshavSrinivasan @TheDestroyer
Swami Vivekananda (Bengali: স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ) Bengali: [ʃami bibekanɒnɖo], Shāmi Bibekānondo; 12 January 1863 – 4 July 1902), born Narendranath Datta (Bengali: নরেন্দ্রনাথ দত্ত) (Bengali: [nɔrend̪ro nat̪ʰ d̪ɔt̪t̪o]), was an Indian Hindu monk, a chief disciple of the 19th-century Indian mystic Ramakrishna. He was a key figure in the introduction of the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world and is credited with raising interfaith awareness, bringing Hinduism to the status of a major world religion during the late 19th century. He was a major force in the revival of Hinduism...
@Pandya Yes. I also thought of going to Ramakrishna mutt today. But didn't go.
@TriyugiNarayanMani btw, where do you live?
07:11
@Pandya yeah. Read few lines of his works :P
@Pandya Delhi.
07:25
@KeshavSrinivasan Ok.. Nice... !..
@Pandya Ok... Thanks for reminding...
07:36
@Tezz @SwiftPushkar @Pandya Haha. See this.
07:54
@TheDestroyer haha... nice!...
@TheDestroyer I think I should answer that question...
@TheDestroyer I think he doesn't know how SE works! Yes Haha nice comment.
@Tezz Yeah. Answer it.
@Tezz what is source of Rudra gayatri Mantra?
@TheDestroyer YajurVeda Taittariya Aranyaka... and also Maitrayani Samhita...
@Tezz Ok.
08:28
@Pandya Which comment?
@SreeCharan actually the parent answer to the comment @TheDestroyer linked is deleted. You'll be able to see deleted posts after 2k. Though you're so closer to 2k.
@Pandya Oh!! that one, I know see this.
@SreeCharan sources?? please. We worship gods by our soul, not by sources. If you actually observe, there is no physical existance of god. We must believe in him truly. Don't just search for sources of those which are beyond our intellect. God made us. We cannot study god. Please – Gitu May 19 '16 at 17:32
08:44
@TheDestroyer Yeah I've seen it yesterday. The answer had 2 upvotes too.
@SreeCharan ok.

4 hours later…
12:31
@SreeCharan I think you've read Puranas right?

3 hours later…
15:19
@SreeCharan Yes, the sage is Nathamuni, and yes, according to traditional Sri Vaishnava accounts Nathamuni lived for hundreds of years.
15:34
@SreeCharan By the way, after Nathamuni passed away, his shishya Kurugai Kavalappan stayed in that place and started meditating. He meditated for many years there until Nathamuni's grandson Yamunacharya came to that place in search of him.
@SreeCharan You see, Nathamuni wrote a work called the Yoga Rahasya, dealing with the secret methods of meditating upon Vishnu in order to attain Moksha. Nathamuni offered to teach the Yoga Rahasya to his chief disciple Uyyakondar, but Uyyakondar refused to learn it, saying "When there is a corpse how can there be a marriage?" What that means is "When there are so many people suffering in Samsara, how can I just meditate upon Vishnu and attain Moksha by myself?"
@KeshavSrinivasan Interesting!
@SreeCharan So instead Uyyakondar chose to learn the poems of the Alwars from Nathamuni, because that way Uyyakondar would not only get Moksha for himself but he would also get Moksha for other people by spreading the Alwars' poems far and wide. In any case, because his chief disciple Uyyakondar refused to learn the Yoga Rahasya, Nathamuni instead taught it to one of his minor disciples, Kurugai Kavalappan.
@KeshavSrinivasan Do we have that "Yoga Rhashya"?
@SreeCharan In any case, Uyyakondar's shishya was Manakkal Nambi, and Manakkal Nambi's shishya was Nathamuni's grandson Yamunacharya. Now right before Manakkal Nambi died, he told Yamunacharya, "Your grandfather Nathamuni wrote a work called the Yoga Rahasya, but he only taught it to one person, Kurugai Kavalappan. So you should find that person and learn it from him."
@Pandya I'm getting to that.
@SreeCharan @Pandya Yamunacharya searched far and wide for Kurugai Kavalappan. Finally he found him in the place where Nathamuni passed away. Kurugai Kavalappan was deep in meditation, so Yamunacharya approached quietly. Kurugai Kavalappan, without even opening his eyes, said "You must be someone from Nathamuni's family." Yamunacharya was shocked and asked "How do you know that?"
@SreeCharan @Pandya Kurugai Kavalappan responded "Because when I meditate, Vishnu is always with me. Even if Lakshmi comes, Vishnu never leaves my side. But as soon as you arrived, Vishnu left my side and went to you. If Vishnu loves you that much then you must be from Nathamuni's family."
@SreeCharan @Pandya So then Yamunacharya introduced himself and asked to learn the Yoga Rahasya. Kurugai Kavalappan said "I can only teach this knowledge at a very auspicious time, specifically at the moment of my death. So come back here right before I'm going to die and I'll teach it to you. I'm going to die many years from now; I've already planned the time and date of my death. So come back at that time."
@SreeCharan @Pandya So Yamunacharya wrote down the time and date on a piece of paper, and then many years passed. One day, Yamunacharya's son, who was a priest in the Sri Rangam temple, was reciting an Alwar poem, when he suddenly and uncontrollably kept repeating a single line from the poem again and again. The line said "Go to the Padmanabhaswamy temple right now."
@SreeCharan @Pandya Yamunacharya took that as a message that Vishnu wanted him to go to the Padmanabhaswamy temple in Trivandrum, Kerala for some reason. So Yamunacharya immediately went to the Padmanabhaswamy temple. When he arrived there, he suddenly realized "This is the exact date and time when Kurugai Kavalappan was supposed to die!" So Yamunacharya was not able to learn the Yoga Rahasya. And so the Yoga Rahasya was lost.
@SreeCharan @Pandya Maybe Vishnu wanted the Yoga Rahasya to be lost, haha
16:02
:(
@SreeCharan @Pandya But there is a modern-day descendant of Nathamuni named T. Krishnamacharya who claims to have rediscovered Nathamuni's Yoga Rahasya; see my question here:
4
Q: Is Iyengar Yoga really based on Nathamuni's Yoga Rahasya?

Keshav SrinivasanThe Alwars (also spelled Azhwars) are a group of 12 ancient Vaishnava saints who lived in Tamil Nadu and are famous for their poetry in praise of Vishnu. The 4000 verses of the Alwars were compiled by the Vaishnava Acharya Nathamuni into a book called the Naalayira Divya Prabhandam, which is cons...

@KeshavSrinivasan Btw, what do you think about Yoga Sutras of Patanjali?
@Pandya Not all. Some parts of all puranas.
@SreeCharan Btw, I found one easy question on Purana that you can answer:
3
Q: What is the difference between Puranas, Upapuranas and Mahapuranas?

MongrelIs there any difference between Puranas, Upapuranas and Mahapuranas? What should we follow?

@Pandya Well, Patanjali's Yoga Sutras are refuted in Adhyaya 2 Pada 1 of the Brahma Sutras.
16:12
@KeshavSrinivasan oh! I don't have Brahma Sutra right now, will check tomorrow. Thanks for pointing out.
@KeshavSrinivasan I knew Uyakkondar and manakkal nambi as Pundareekaksha and Sri Rama misra respectively.
@SreeCharan Yeah, those are their Sanskrit names.
@Pandya Still a learner. I don't know the difference to answer the question. I don't think my answer would be suffice to that question. Thanks for searching a question for me. :)
@SreeCharan So did you know the story of the Yoga Rahasya I discussed above?
@KeshavSrinivasan Yeah. I read them daily in the guruparampara.
@KeshavSrinivasan I read just now. Thanks for the story.
16:18
@Pandya Adi Shankaracharya says that the methods given in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras do not lead to Moksha. Only the Upanishads lead to Moksha.
@Pandya Adhyaya 3 Pada 3 of the Brahma Sutras gives the Vedanta school's techniques on how to attain Moksha by meditating upon the 32 Brahma Vidyas found in the Upanishads.
@KeshavSrinivasan Yes, I remember he criticized Yoga method in "Sarva Vedanta Siddhanta Saara Sangrah" but it is not believed to be an authentic work.
@KeshavSrinivasan While I was searching on the internet about our acharyas, I found a poem (taniya) praising Manakkal nambi as this We have three Ramas'. The first one is Dasharathi. He had a blemish that he killed all the rakshasas and done himsa(violence). Then Balarama who turned pink by drinking excessive alcohol. But we have our acharya Manakkal nambi who is the best of Ramas' and the blemishless one.
@Pandya He also criticizes Yoga methods in the Brahma Sutra Bhashya.
@KeshavSrinivasan These sentence can be found in your most of questions on Upanishad! Haha
@SreeCharan Oh, that's nice, it shows the fervor of Acharya Bhakti. Who composed that Taniyan?
@Pandya Haha yeah
16:22
@KeshavSrinivasan Ok. As you know I've not read Adi Shankaracharya Bhashy on Brahma Sutra, btw, I've found that recently in Sanskrit+Hindi on Internet Archive
@Pandya Oh, that's nice.
@KeshavSrinivasan I don't know. Some disciple of Rama misra.
@SreeCharan Maybe it was Yamunacharya. By the way, do you know how Yamunacharya became a disciple of Manakkal Nambi?
@KeshavSrinivasan No.
@KeshavSrinivasan Btw, thanks for sharing that information. I liked it and bookmarked:

@SreeCharan Nathamuni composed a work on logic called the Nyaya Tattva (which is now lost). As a little boy, Yamunacharya read his grandfather's work and became an expert on logic. So one day he decided to go to the court of the Pandya king and challenge him to a debate. When the king heard that a little boy wanted to debate him, he laughed and said "Aalavandharaa?" meaning "Has he come to rule over me?" That's how Yamunacharya acquired the name "Alavandhar."
@SreeCharan don't read "@Pandya king" by mistake! Haha /cc @KeshavSrinivasan
@SreeCharan In any case, the king agreed to debate the little boy, just for the fun of it. Yamunacharya was so good at logic that he could use logical fallaciesto prove anything he wanted. So he proved all sorts of things, e.g. that the king's wife was unfaithful to him, that the king was an illegitimate child, etc.
@Pandya Haha
@SreeCharan The king was so impressed with Yamunacharya that he gave him half of the Pandya empire! So Yamunacharya spent most of his life as a king.
@KeshavSrinivasan Oh!!!
@Pandya Till you said your real name, I thought you as a king..:D
@KeshavSrinivasan How did yamuna muni turn become a monk?
@SreeCharan In any case, in due course of time Nathamuni passed away, then Nathamuni's shishya Uyyakondar passed away, and so finally Uyyakondar's shishya Manakkal Nambi had the responsibility of bringing Yamunacharya into the Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam. Yamunacharya was a king and he had absolutely no interest in spiritual matters. So Manakkal Nambi came to the court of Yamunacharya and said "Your grandfather Nathamuni left you a very big inheritance."
@SreeCharan no-problem. Redirecting to @SwiftPushkar.. : How about answering hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/10323/…?

Q: Why would a scientifically advanced future community believe in multiple gods?

FaulknerPolytheism was a common form of religion in ancient times. People believed that different gods lived and controlled various parts of nature (ie the sun, the moon, thunderstorms), and praying to these gods gave them a sense that they had control over their lives. In modern and scientifically adva...

@SreeCharan Yamunacharya was excited and said "OK, give it to me." Manakkal Nambi said it was too big to bring, so he offered to take Yamunacharya to it. Yamunacharya agreed, and so Manakkal Nambi took him to Sri Rangam. He showed him the Ranganatha statue and said "This is your inheritance." Upon seeing the statue Yamunacharya was completely changed. On the spot he decided to give up his kingdom and become a Sanyasi and shishya of Manakkal Nambi.
@TheDestroyer The OP quoted @SwiftPushkar's answer.
@SreeCharan Yeah.
@TheDestroyer They write hardly a paragraph or two and get 28votes!!!!
@SreeCharan Exactly. That too not upto the mark answer.
16:51
@TheDestroyer Btw, have you visited Haridwar?
Ganesha didn't say this dialogue. hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/16719/…
@Pandya No. I didn't visit. Why Haridwar?
@SreeCharan - which answer of mine ?
@TheDestroyer Yes. They are debating on a topic which they have no idea about.
@KeshavSrinivasan @SwiftPushkar @SreeCharan @Pandya Bori Critical Edition removed Vyasa and ganesha story. Lol..
@SwiftPushkar Why take a different avatar every time?
16:52
@SreeCharan - ok got it 😊
Finally @SwiftPushkar gives up his mouna vrata!!! :D
@TheDestroyer - yes , offcourse possibly they didn't found any mentioning ,but it's popular belief 😊
@SreeCharan Why did @SwiftPushkar perform mouna Vrata?
@TheDestroyer As I wanted to know whether you have seen the statue in Haridwar near Ganga:
@SreeCharan - oh , no , not like that , There was no electricity here since morning , and yesterday i Sept while talking so forgot to charge my tab , so ,i was not online most of the time 😊
16:55
@Pandya Saw in Movie.
@SwiftPushkar It's OK. I was kidding.
@Pandya I think I saw it on the way to Haridwar.
@TheDestroyer ok
@Pandya Did you visit Haridwar?
@KeshavSrinivasan yes, were you were going or passing through?
@TheDestroyer yes.
16:58
@Pandya ok. What all places you visted?
@KeshavSrinivasan In my profile page, Impact of posts changed from 11k to 45k how is it possible? @Pandya
@TheDestroyer @KeshavSrinivasan @Pandya @SreeCharan - BORI is in pune , also there is collage named Deccan collage here , which is famous for archeology & ancient literature studies 😊
@SwiftPushkar Yeah. They prepared a critical edition collecting various versions of Mahabharata all over India and removed possible interpolations.
You can read BORI critical edition here
Bibek Debroy, famous economist, translated it into English.
@TheDestroyer "Har ki pauri" is main place, visited some site seen you may find en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haridwar#Places_of_interest, Also visited Rishikesh, Masuri and Nilkantha Mahadev.
17:04
@Pandya Saw that place in Video.
@Pandya I passed by the Shiva statue, but the places I was actually visiting were Rishikesh, Haridwar, Devprayag, Joshi Mutt, Badrinath, and Mana Village.
@KeshavSrinivasan Kedarnath?
@TheDestroyer - These people from BORI & deccan collage ,often write in magzines about new findings ,purans , upanishadas etc. we are subscribing some ,but they are in marathi language
Rudraprayag?
@KeshavSrinivasan Yes, then you might had seen that statue.
17:06
@TheDestroyer No, I didn't go to Kedarnath. That requires going by helicopter and we didn't have time. I wanted to go though.
@Pandya By the way, Joshi Mutt is the only Shankaracharya Mutt I've ever gone to. It has a beautiful Narasimha statue.
@KeshavSrinivasan ohh..ok. That was the place where Nara, Narayana worshipped Shiva. you might know the story.
@KeshavSrinivasan I'm not talking about Kedarnath. The statue is at Haridwar. I think you wanted to reply @TheDestroyer
@Pandya Sorry, that message was for @TheDestroyer
@KeshavSrinivasan yes, got it. no-problem!
@Pandya @KeshavSrinivasan Sri M describes all these places in his book. He also disparages Gaudiyas in his book and he goes to Swami Sivananda Ashram at Rishikesh. haha..
17:09
@TheDestroyer Do you know if that story is mentioned in any Puranas?
What abt.first question on main , do we need to close it as duplicate?
@KeshavSrinivasan yes.
3
A: What is the story of Kedarnath Jyotirlinga?

The DestroyerNara-Narayana were two prominent sages, who were sons of Yama and previous births of Arjuna and Krishna respectively. They lived in Badrikashrama and they were known for their fight with Sahasrakavacha. These sages did Tapasya for Lord Shiva daily and Shiva used to come here as Parthiva Linga pl...

@TheDestroyer @KeshavSrinivasan Btw, I've not visited Joshi math and Kedarnath.
or is it about vyasa?
@TheDestroyer Thanks. I'm surprised Arulnandi Shivacharya didn't mention it in his list of stories, haha: gdurl.com/ohbJ/download
@Pandya Did you visit the rest of the places I mentioned?
17:14
@SwiftPushkar Which question? about delivery in mother's home?
@KeshavSrinivasan Is he the same one who talked about Supremacy of Shiva (you shared a doc with me and Tezz)?
@SreeCharan - No , Reference to this statement in MB , that one 😊 , but i think not , its about specific quote , haven't noticed that before 😀
@KeshavSrinivasan I've not visited Badrinath, and Mana Village.
@SwiftPushkar First we need to answer the question with references that the said statement is not in the original MB. After the OP is satisfied, we may close or leave open. It is not off- topic.
@SwiftPushkar Duplicate is not the apt. flag regarding this question.
@SreeCharan - no , my comment was " possibly this question already has an answer " 😊 but did somebody flagged it as off-topic? , cause i haven't
17:21
@SreeCharan I don't have an exact idea. Following post discuss how it is calculated that may help you:

@TheDestroyer Yeah, I'm referring to the same document I showed you earlier.
@Pandya Do you know we can watch live darshans of some temples?
@TheDestroyer yes, I think you or someone else have discussed it earlier. (Probably about watching Mahakaleshwara)
@Pandya I was just curious. It climbed from 11k to 45k overnight.
@Pandya yeah. It was me.
17:26
@SreeCharan surprising.
@TheDestroyer Ok. Had you discuss as The Destroyer or Anil Kumar. Haha
Sep 22 '16 at 10:45, by The Destroyer
@Tezz i watched Bhasma Arti of Mahakala temple.
:P
@SreeCharan Now, do any channel show live Darshan of tirupati Venkateswara?
@TheDestroyer Darshana of mulavirat on TV and photography inside temple is prohibited. But sevas like kalyanam, tomala, are live daily on SCVBC.
@SreeCharan I think for Kalyanam they use Malayappa Swamy.
@SreeCharan It's bad that they don't telcast Mulavirat. They are getting so much money and anyways people visit tirupati even if they telecast it live.
17:39
Many sevas are performed to malayappa swamy as he is the presiding deity of tirumala. THere are other srinivasa forms also they are ugra, koluvu, bhoga, main deity.
@TheDestroyer Many temples in south India don't allow photography. I also support the decision that the main deity should not be on TV.
@SreeCharan Yeah. South temples don't allow it. Tirupati, Srisailam, Rameswaram don't have this facility. But Many north Indian temples do have this facility such as Kasi, Somnath, Shirdi, mathura..
@SreeCharan - is SCVBC means -Sri Venkateshwara Bhakti Channel
@SwiftPushkar Yes. It is administered by Tirumal tirupati devastanam.
@SreeCharan I think it can be allowed. What's wrong in telecasting live?
@TheDestroyer I don't know.
But I don't like it for no reason.
17:44
@TheDestroyer - yes , Pandharpur vithoba ,Mahalaxaumi temple kolhapur , many iskon temples ,Tuljapur Temple ,Omkareshwar Temple, Mahakaleshwar Temple ,SiddhiVinayak (Mumbai) telecast live darshan
@SwiftPushkar Yeah. Is Mumbai Siddhivinayaka Swayambhu?
@KeshavSrinivasan btw, yesterday was Kudarai pasuram..
@TheDestroyer - no its not swayambhu , like Dagdu Sethhalwai temple in pune , both are famous , but have murties :)
@TheDestroyer - Astavinayakas are swaymabhu
Lenyadri (Marathi: लेण्याद्री, Leṇyādri) represents a series of about 30 rock-cut Buddhist caves, located near Junnar in Pune district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Cave 7 is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to the god Ganesha. It is one of the Ashtavinayak shrines, a set of the eight prominent Ganesha shrines in Western Maharashtra. Twenty-six of the caves are individually numbered. The caves face to the south and are numbered serially from east to west. Caves 6 and 14 are chaitya-grihas (chapels), while the rest are viharas (dwellings for monks). The latter are in the form of dwellings and...
@SwiftPushkar ok.
@SwiftPushkar Yeah. I read Mayureswara Story.
@TheDestroyer - ok :)
17:50
@SwiftPushkar how far are these caves from pune?
@TheDestroyer - 90 km
@SwiftPushkar ok. Bhima Shankar Jyotirlinga?
@SwiftPushkar Did you visit those caves?
@TheDestroyer - almost same 80 to 90 but route is same , pune Nashik Highway
@SwiftPushkar Maharastra is famous for Astha Ganesha temples just like how Telugu states are famous for Nava Narasimha Kshetras.
@SwiftPushkar ok.
@TheDestroyer - oh ok :) interesting , i would like to know more abt them (Nava Narasimha):)
17:58
@SwiftPushkar 1. Ahobilam Ahobila Lakshmi Narasimha Swami
2.Yadhagirigutta Jhwala Narasimha Swami
3. MalaKonda(Malyadhri)Malyadhri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami
4.Simhachalam Krodhaakara Varaaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swami
5.Dharmapuri Bhargava Narasimha Swami
6.Vedhadhri Yoga Narasimha Swami
7.Antharvedhi Aanandha Narasimha Swami
8.MangalaGiri Panakala Narasimha Swami
9.PenchalaKona Chathravati Narasimha Swami
Ahobilam is famous.
@TheDestroyer - yes , as you have posted , i was looking same site :) the Murties are grt.:) are some of these ancient murties ? i mean 1000-1200 years old
@TheDestroyer - are these different forms of lord Narasimha ?
@SwiftPushkar I think so. Not so sure. Simhachalam temple says the spot where Narasimha saved Prahlada.
@TheDestroyer Of those nava narasimha kshetras, how many have you visited?
@SwiftPushkar My mother's kula Deva is MalaKonda (Malyadhri) Malyadhri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami
@TheDestroyer Ahobilam is where Narasimha rescued Prahlada.
18:04
@KeshavSrinivasan haha. Simhachalam Temple also claims the same.
@TheDestroyer - oh ok :) so Malyadhri is village or name of the place right or else
@SreeCharan I visited Malakonda Narasimha Temple.
@SwiftPushkar Yeah.
@TheDestroyer I visited Yadagirigutta, dharmapuri, mangalagiri.
@KeshavSrinivasan There are some claims that Ramanuja converted a Shiva temple into narasimha Temple at Simhachalam near Vizag.
@SreeCharan I haven't visited Managalagiri though it is very near to my place.
@TheDestroyer There are five forms in Yadagirigutta(Yadadri) Ugra,jwala, Lakshmi, Yogananda and Gandabherunda nrusimha.
It is believed that Gandabherunda nrusimha resides in a shila there.
18:09
@SreeCharan KCR improved yadagiri Gutta. He wants that temple to compete with tirumala temple.
@TheDestroyer Anyway, that is a great temple and any government did not focus on development of the temple.
@TheDestroyer @KeshavSrinivasan Interestingly, to the shila of Lakshmi nrusimha swamy, there are nammalwar and ramanujacharya on the top.
