@JasonSalaz interesting.
However, right now I don't have the time
I will definitely run next spring.
jrg

i thought SE only recorded about a third of the traffic.
I have really debated about nominating myself
I must admit, My UK time slot does mean I see the site at it's quietest compared to you guys
Once I switch over to a different curriculum for school, I will have more time.
That will be this fall. I can't wait!!!!
One of the other reasons I'm not running is because I'm a newbie
I've only used the SE network for, I think, 6 months
Yup, 6 months ago.
So, I'd like to use it for a little longer before I run for AD mod.
@jrg Yes, I have aspirations of world domination.....
3
And as I said, that would include being an AD mod.

@daviesgeek Mwahahaha.
@stuffe not unlike Kyle's aforementioned vampire time slot.
23:28
So are folks hanging out in chat part of the knowledge magpie contingent?
I suspect most of us didn't even get the magpie reference.
I wonder if they have anything to do with magypsies
(Now THAT is a reference I don't expect ANYONE to get.)
I didn't really think of knowledge magpies as an in-joke, just a particularly apt and vivid metaphor. The way a flock of magpies might swarm around food, and pick at whatever crumbs people drop, us crazies swarm to information about Apple products. So if it was a joke, I either missed it or killed it, but I thought it was a pretty cool image.
@JasonSalaz You're right, I don't get it..
@stuffe But Bing does.
@daniel Yeah, that works too, I was thinking of the pointless collecting if things that they do, just like us learning how to fix thing we will likely never ever need to do.
23:40
Right.
Not that we'd ever collect pointless knowledge. No, not at all.
...right ;)
Now how do I change the navigation shortcuts on a shell that I don;t even use again....?
Were those really Magpies' in The Birds?
No.
Crows?
But it was a cool image
23:42
oh. Well then
And I couldn't find a good graphic of flocking Magpies
@stuffe navigation shortcuts?
@JasonSalaz as an example of things we don't really need to know...
But will learn here
There is a word for that:
Trivia
Oh, and @JasonSalaz, Kyle, and Nathan, to expand your cultural elightenment, since clearly you didn't know this a week ago, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voltron
Sorry, I @'ed the one person in that exchange least necessary to @.
23:45
VOLTRON!!!!!!!!!
Do you watch Adult Swim, Daniel?
More specifically, Robot Chicken
No, sorry. What is it?
Robot Chicken is a predominately claymation satire cartoon. Episodes are 15 minutes in length.
(The source of my sound check dialogue)
Oh
They've had a couple voltron skits, the most recent one I know of in season 3 was hilarious.
Cool.
I'll have to check it out sometime. Cable?
23:47
It addresses the 'vehicle voltron', and being 'not the real voltron'. It's hilarious.
Yeah, cartoon network.
you can probably watch all of the episodes on adultswim.com though, knowing them
I sure hope that's actually their URL...
@JasonSalaz just one of the questions I got needlessly engrossed in as I have never used the terminal programs in question - great example of the accumulation of limited use knowledge :)
it is, thank god
The vehicles were a pale shadow of the lions, I thought.
@stuffe /me uses the Terminal every single day
I probably shouldn't, but I do most days.
23:50
wat - more talk about magpies please...
caw caw caw
sweet.
@JasonSalaz Me too, just not that one, with that shell - yet still I read...
OT: community has a bubbles gravatar now
23:50
wait, we're wasting time here and @bmike's off answering questions. Now why is it that he has 20K rep and we don't :-)
(besides the fact that he knows more answers than we do, that is...)
Actually, I'm stirring the pot a little on meta.

Q: What would happen if we expanded the scope of this site to include iTunes Connect?

bmikeIt seems we get about an even handful of questions each month by developers asking about iTunes Connect / App Store sales. I hope this increases with iBooks Author as teachers start to experiment with making their own iPad books and course content. I want this site to be a place they can ask any ...

@bmike I'm thinking hard about that one.
I'll post a response in a couple hours if I can
@NathanGreenstein take all the time you want.
It's certainly not clear cut - and the existing decision was made for probably good reasons and furthermore I wasn't around when it formed.
I'll think it over while doing some homework :)
It just seems silly to have that one program be totally off limits - especially with the great moderators we already have and you could throw darts at the current nominees and have a great lineup for this upcoming year.
23:53
Man, chat is hoppin' today
I was noticin' that
Oh, now I get the magpies....
@daviesgeek wat - MAGPIES
@bmike Ok, now that I don't get...
chirp, chrip - highly intelligent and territorial
@daviesgeek that's OK - I'm not sure I get it either
And meta seems to have really come to life of late also!
23:55
@bmike Ok, I think I get that...
but it's really fun to be on a magpie kick
2
(not sure if that's a good thing, but there it is)
I'd better not waste brainpower trying to figure it out...
@Daniel It's a good thing, IMO
(Meta coming to life, that is; Magpies are good)
23:56
@Daniel I think so too
whoa, I didn't realize Meta had come that much to life!
If everything is going smoothly, there's nothing to discuss on meta. It's only when we need to shake things out that meta errupts. But they seem like healthy things to be discussing, so... may you live in interesting times
Meta will be nominating itself next...
3
@stuffe :-)
OK, back to work. chirp chirp chirp.
bedtime over the pond. caw
23:57
Yes, back to work editing questions and answers. ;-)
laters
not really.
@stuffe see ya!
